This is undoubtedly the best transfer window I’ve seen as a Town fan 20:39 - Aug 31 with 2267 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

Absolutely incredible.

Kyle Edwards, Celina, Morsy, Harper and Bonne all in League 1! Plus the 3rd top scorer in the league last year in Piggott, one of the best midfielders last season in Fraser, the League 2 keeper of the year in Hladky and the top rated CB in league 1 in Burgess on the average ratings thing.

Absolutely incredible. Gamechanger.. we are lucky to have you.

We haven't won a game throughout the whole window. Such a shame that Sky made signing players more important than winning games for new generations of fans. I expect they switch off again now until January

I blame the fantasy leagues where fans are given millions just to buy players

While he's been underperforming, Evans is another one that many posters were buzzing about

And just as importantly several players who have been draining the club accounts and not giving enough in return have been shown the door. (Not all those who have left fall into that category, but boy did we have some players phoning it in for a few years!)

I'd have been happy if this was a Championship transfer window. That it's league 1 and we've got some of these players is mental.

I mean, It has been exciting. however - that excitement simply must translate to results. No excuses for Cook now - his team and his vision - so no excuses.

Totally agree. As for the recruitments made, it’s been brilliant to have so many good players come through the door. If we can ever get half of them to click as a unit, we’ve got some team going forwards.

Completely agree Rommers. It’s mouth watering. We haven’t had many days to celebrate or welcome over the last few decades but the completion of this transfer window is definitely one in my view.

I fail to see how this side with this management team can do anything but succeed but it is football which is littered with uncertainty. However, there’s a robustness to this feel good factor as the core infrastructure feels right at last.

Without a doubt the best league 1 squad we have assembled. But that you're so ecstatic about the signing of this particular group of players only emphasises just how painfully far we have fallen. Once we were the team of Beattie, Mills, Muhren, Wark, Gates, Woods, Mariner, etc, etc. None of our present squad comes even close to those players, or near a starting place in that team. Have you watched the Big Match Revisited on ITV2 lately? In so many ways we are so far away from those days when we truly had a team to be proud of. Let's hope this is the start of a revival of former glories, but let's also temper that hope with a bit of realism.

It may have been necessary but generally not a fan of such vast change and not knowing any of the new players?

Incredible for L1. All down to the manager now. I will be expecting results to change very quickly. Think Cook has to deliver by Xmas or he will be gone

‘The best transfer window I’ve seen as a town fan’ was my title for this thread.

As a 23 year old, I can tell you I wasn’t alive for the signings of those players.
