“Head of local union gets remuneration package” and “Union invests funds in hotel”. The stench of bad faith in the Lavery article is quite something. Imagine if that tone and zeal had extended to investigating actual political sleaze over the years?

Surely the focus here should be what is in the article rather than how you perceive it to be written and any equivalences to other articles? SB [Post edited 13 Nov 2021 12:33]

I did read them and gave my summaries. What points do you find particularly troubling?

Facts are one thing and how you present them another.

You can’t be so keen on your own points if you’re arguing the toss over pretty standard concepts.

It's not really arguing the toss expecting you to have some idea what you're talking about when you throw these buzzwords out there.

And I’ve explained exactly what I mean. Feck me, Herbs. I don’t think you know what you’re even arguing about anymore. I mean you accept the idea of the establishment and you presumably accept the idea of anti-establishment political parties and ideas. What’s so tough to understand about the left-side of that dynamic?

In terms of concrete examples you've given me unions and the Guardian, neither of which would be things that could really be considered part of the establishment, imo. Other than that you seem to be saying "you know the establishment, yeah? Well it's the left side of that". Frankly that tells me very little and doesn't convince me that you have a very clear idea of what you actually mean when you keep trotting out the line about shoring up the left side of the establishment. We'll leave it there as we stopped making any kind of progress several psots back.
