Good to see Dozzell and Downes prospering at their new clubs 23:35 - Nov 24 with 5845 viewsunstableblue

Good managers in charge at Swansea and QPR… Martinis going to go far… and always liked Warburton, wasn’t he in the frame alongside Hurst, would have been my pick

Good to see Simpson continue to do well

Great that Dobra is now getting game time… now playing as a number 10 at col u, who switched their system I think at got a result

Oh well that's all the proof we need. Thank you.

It's not proof of anything but the suggestion that League 1 and League 2 are worlds apart is not correct. There's a much bigger gap between the Championship and League 1 than between League 1 and 2.

They are only 4 points worse off with 2 games in hand compared to a League 1 side still targeting automatic promotion….

They’re 19th in L2

IMO if there had been any way of making it happen (there probably wasn't) Dozzell and Morsy would've made a cracking centre midfield in this team. Ah well.

I’ve seen the Swans a fair bit this season, as I can’t start travelling to a Saturday match before midday which has ruled out many of our own games. Not that it’s of much interest to us now, but Flynn’s really settled. He’s looking one of the best players on the pitch each match. Not flash, but protects the back 4 brilliantly, and on the very rare occasion he’s played further forward he doesn’t look out of place there either. They love him down here.

Water under the bridge of course, but I think he’d have been great under McK.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Dozzell not even getting into the QPR squad. Unless he’s injured?

He was, and had a bit of a good patch a month or more ago. I'm not sure whether he's ft or not now. Having seen Flynn in a different setup and with a clear remit, I'd struggle to imagine Dozzell being anywhere near as good at that level. I could be wrong though of course.

Downes was always the more likely to succeed at a higher level because he has a bit of desire. Dozzell always seemed to let games drift by him.

QPR signed Jeff Hendrick in the transfer window so I think that will have pushed him out. Big 12 months for him, could see him going out on loan next year.

Downes was always going to do well at Swansea. I think the better players around him the better he will be.

Dozzell was playing for QPR U23s this week.

He got sent off at end of December for the first XI and hasn’t really had much of a look in since his ban ended

Although there is the curious factoid that Swansea and QPR didn't score until Downes and Dozzell respectively were replaced, and in each case it was the substitute who came on for them who scored to put the win on the cards. The previous evening Teddy Bishop was also hooked but it didn't stop Lincoln getting thumped at home without scoring, although two of Portsmouth's three goals happened after Bishop had left the field.

Bishop only came on in the 65th min last night I see .

And Dozzell wasn’t even in the squad for QPR !

Downes will go onto big things, he could play at the highest level.

Think Bish has reached his Ceiling to be honest, crazy to still think he's a youngster when he's 26 in a few months.

Dozzell, he's a bit of an enigma if I'm honest, he has key attributes that other players don't possess, but I do just wonder if he is too lightweight, think the next year or so will determine his path one way or the other.

He's made 21 appearances for them in his first real season at that level, mostly played well and then got pushed down the pecking order by a loanee with nearly 150 Premier League appearances. He's well-regarded by most QPR fans (fair few wanted him back in the team after their recent Millwall loss). He'll be disappointed to fall back a bit of late, but decent progress overall this season, I'd say.
