I could be very wrong but if Harris was really the man I suspect he would already be in place. I also think Gamechanger didn't spend the summer getting in players like Celina, Walton, Morsy, Edmundson etc in order for them to be managed by Neil Harris, their targets off the pitch will be as ambitious as those on it.
The caveat to all this is, of course, that we've ended up in a position the owners didn't expect — and it'll be interesting to see how or if that sways them. |
If he’s going to play like he did at Millwall, Cardiff, we will need 2 central midfielders who can run up and down and 2 target men for starters.
This appointment will tell us if we have a plan or not. Harris doesn’t look like he fits with the recruitment in the summer so we could be in a position where players have been invested in and don’t suit the style the manager wants. |  | | |

All the article doesn’t really lead to anything conclusive other than it won’t be Lampard and it almost definitely won’t be Mowbray. Harris being interviewed is fair enough but doesn’t mean he’s a shoe in for the job or indeed that other people such as Anthony Barry haven’t been interviewed or won’t be interviewed. Think it’s a bit early for folk to be getting their knickers in a twist re Harris as I/ he’s not been appointed and 2/ how much do we actually know about him anyway?

Harris has actually managed at a higher level for longer than Cook so whether he is inferior could be debated.
Where I agree is that I’d appoint McGreal/Dyer until the seasons end if we are going down the temporary manager route. Whose to say they wouldn’t make a success of it? |  | | |

He may not be here but it does feel like we’re in the same position as when Mick left - him going was not the issue but who we brought in. Would love to hear the thinking behind this; did they not get the applicants get expected? What about the managers who applied who are in jobs from a higher division? | |

Indeed. Given Harris was available, why is he not already here? Unless, perhaps, he's absolutely stormed the interview process and changed their minds.

With regards to your first sentence, he may be at the top of the list but they still want to speak to others before making the final decision? Would make sense.
However, I do agree with the point that the players you mention don't seem to fit into a Neil Harris style. |  |
