What's on your Christmas cheeseboard? 22:47 - Dec 17 with 886 viewsLesta_Tractor

I've gone very local

Red Leicester (proper stuff not supermarket orange plastic)
Lincolnshire Poacher
Long Clawson Stilton
Bosworth Field
Rutland Slipcote

Vintage cheddar
Wensleydale with apricots (I will not apologise)
Cream crackers
Pickle

Everything else can do one to be honest. Cracker selections can fook right off as well. None of them come close to the mighty cream cracker.

Truly impaired.

We seem to have some port infused Stilton which I’m looking forward to. Some stuff with fruit in it for the ladies, and a roule

Wensleydale with cranberry is an absolute must.

As with J2, I do not apologise for this opinion. Top-tier cheese.

Sadly, the family footers only rates basic cheese so I'll be having whatever Aunt Bessy deems acceptable this year.

Can't go far wrong with a traditional cave-aged cheddar.

A stilton pot.

And a camembert for baking and a French stick.

A decent cave-aged Cheddar
An interesting looking cave-aged goat's cheese
A cheeky Stilton
A nice French cheese - perhaps a Bleu d'Auvergne, or a Comté

Water biscuits

Fruit should be served with, and not in cheese

Blue brie?

Oh yes. All made by wee cows at the bottom of the A140.

You can get it out of their cheese vending machine if the shop is shut.

Sorry Cornish wafers are kings of the cracker.

While a cream cracker is a fine cheese biscuit indeed I personally think you need different crackers for different cheeses

Fruit in cheese is an abomination. Punishment required 😃. But the misses loves it, along with that soft cheese that looks like it’s been rolled in grass clippings (roulade). Cheddar (vintage), crackers, pickle - tick! Add stilton, Red Leicester, real Wensleydale, English Brie.

Job done.

Four varieties of I Am Nut OK, truffle infused, charcoal infused, paprika, and Italian herb. Then two Kinda Co cheeses, one summer truffle and one smoked chilli. A good selection.
