One of four original copies of Magna Carta made in 1215 is kept in Lincoln Museum. It is owned by the Cathedral, but the museum’s security is better.

As cities go Lincoln is second rate, only one cathedral and no airport.

It also has a steep hill, called Steep Hill.

Lincoln gets its name from a mix of old Brythonic words meaning a settlement by a pool/lake/water

In a similar way the name Kings Lynn could be deemed to be derived from being a right a Royal Latrine

Now that's a great bit of information.

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned a British 4-engined heavy bomber.

Not to be confused with the Lancaster bomber also made by Avro and also 4-engined and used by the dam busters.

Confusion would be understandable, the Lincoln was originally the Mk IV and V of the Lancaster, later renamed. Was itself developed into the Shackleton, which served in the RAF until the 1990s.

The Lincoln was designated to deliver a early version of the atom bomb, as being the only aircraft with a long enough bomb bay. However, that design (plutonium gun) did not work, so they were not needed.

Grimsby is also in Lincolnshire.

I have been to both Grimsby and EDIT: this should have said Skegness here rather than Lincoln (although I have been there as well. Lincoln is fairly charming).

I would actually rather go to Lowestoft!

It was so grim in Grimsby that Kabba tore us apart and Burley got sacked.

It was so awful in Skeggy that I got a sick bug at their Butlins.

No one chooses to go to Lowestoft but it is preferable to both of those places and probably Lincolnshire generally (although Lincoln on a sunny day is quite nice).

To be fair, I live a lot closer to Lowestoft than I do to Ipswich. I wish Lowestoft was a far more attractive place than it actually is and I admire those who I know have worked very hard to make it far better than it would be without their efforts. I hope the new crossing will make a big difference.

They just do not understand, brother. My guess is that many of these people have never sampled the delights of our wonderful town. If they had they would realise Lowestoft still has many brilliant things to recommend it to those willing to make the trip.

I reckon Trump and Biden are two but I must admit I am not certain about the other 4.

I spotted it but couldn't even remember back as far as Obama and Clinton. I feel a bit embarrassed.

I also honestly did not realise that Carter and Bush Jr are still alive!

There's no way he's running on regular fumes.

He must be 120.

Not far off. Born 1924. Outlived Bush Sr's age to become the oldest ever ex-president.
