I was just answering your question. I presume in MGs case it was meant to be an affectionate name for a particularly small and nimble little car.
FWIW I couldn't give 2 hoots. Its a weird name for confectionary anyway for a start. I find it weird that this is deemed newsworthy, or that I'm spending my time on a Thursday afternoon talking about it.
I understand that the biscuit 'Hobnob' is to be renamed because the verb 'to hobnob' has class connotations. It's going to be called instead 'Baldy Ham's Favourite'.
