Let's just hope they now have enough evidence that it holds up in front of a judge. Proving he was an idiot before he entered their country seems quite easy, but proving he willing falsified his visa application seems harder. If he wins another court battle, there will be a very strong antivax poster boy out there.

I haven’t read up this morning, but the fact he provided inaccurate information on a visa application is surely grounds enough for it to be cancelled!? Deliberate deception or otherwise.

Was listening to an Aussie sports reporter yesterday and he was saying they were making sure if they revoke his visa it needed to be watertight from a legal perspective, which is why it has taken a couple of days. Doubt Novaks team will try and overturn it, knowing they had royally screwed up the application. He also faces the prospect of not being able to play in the French Open given thier vaccination requirements, so Rafa could be the one that overtakes them all.

I thought that had already been challenged in court and he won that case. I forget what new evidence has now come to light. I know his movements before he went to Australia show he was wandering about while supposidly positive and that indicates his positive test was false and I have seen reports about proving that through the date stamps on the test. I'm just not sure I trust the Australian government to not knob the court hearing up again and there is nothing new about the actual visa application. If he gets a pass from the courts again, he becomes that little guy who took on the system and won.

I really don’t think they will. All it says on the trophy is Australian Open Champion, and that’s all anyone cares about. Whoever wins if from the new generation and not Rafa, it could be the first of many as I don’t think Djokovic will win another Aus Open even if he isn’t banned for 3 years as he’s mid 30s now.

Its being done on a different power, not on the application itself. What I struggle with most is what his plan was for this tournament before he was unlucky enough to catch covid just two weeks before travelling...

And for ‘deported’, read fly first class on Emirates. He’s not being handcuffed and marched into economy
Djokovic kicked out (again) on 08:39 - Jan 14 with 1026 views | Churchman | Well done Australia. They are right to kick him out and to ban him for three years. These people (including Johnson’s crowd, that odious tool Andrew etc) believe they are above everyone else; privileged. The rules don’t apply to them and they get all outraged when they’re questioned about it. These vile people make me sick. Wouldn’t it be nice if this government told Djokovic the Aussies are right and a three year ban will be applied here too. There’s more chance of hidey hole Johnson telling the truth than that happening.

This will mainly be on public health grounds. And Djokovic has admitted to ignoring self-isolation laws, so they will say what is to make him not do that again. They’ll appeal it, because he needs to continue to look the victim

The government asked to delay the original court case whilst they collated information but it was denied. There is far more evidence against him now including lying about being in another country 14 data before entering Australia on his visa application and some highly suspect testing dates in the computer system which seem to indicate faked tests. That's before his admission that he attended an interview with the media with no mask at various stages when he knew he was positive with covid which could easily fall under "danger to the public". Guy is a total cockwomble. SB [Post edited 14 Jan 2022 8:49]

This is silly, you could apply that to every tournament where the world number one has been injured throughout history. It's clearly not the case. SB

I’d want to be beat the best if it was me, the best not being there is a bit hollow.

Once again though, couldn't you apply that to any tournament that Federer wasn't in over a period of 5 years or so due to injury? What about all the slams won when Nadal was injured and not in attendance? I think most players are happier not to have a anti-vax loon running around the locker rooms. SB

I agree, but for me I’d want t to beat him to know I was beating the world number one. The only victim here is the tournament itself in my option,
