Cummings going in with the knockout blow?? on 20:47 - Jan 17 by longtimefan

“He has everything to lose by making a false accusation, as whatever he says afterwards won't be believed.....were he to lie. “

You must be the one person in the country that believes the Barnard Castle trip was a test of his eyesight then.

Of dear, you don't sound too bright

Let me explain

Cummings' reputation after Barnard Castle was pretty much shot. What he is not going to do now is to post anything that suggests he is in any way less than honest.

Nothing he has posted so far in regard to this matter has been shown to be inaccurate, or false if you like. Why would he prejudice that for something that was not true, as all the rest he posted would then be viewed with doubt ? It is not like there is not enough damning evidence against Johnson, without anything else needed from Cummings.

It shouldn't take a great deal of working out

Cummings comments, as with Cummings himself, are worthless evidentially.

He is not honest, he is self-serving.

There's plenty of evidence elsewhere.

This isn't the point though.

He's broken all his own rules and has to go, it's a separate issue to the rubbish that comes afterwards.

You're basically saying anyone can get away with anything if the eventual replacement is seen as worse which is clearly nonsense.

Once again for your benefit, my point is, nobody really cares.

There are a few who might moan and whinge on Twitter and TWTD about it but the bulk of the country, Karen and Mark on Facebook, just don’t care. They don’t care about lying to parliament, they don’t care about was it a party or was it work?, they don’t care about it was the day of Prince Phillips funeral. You have far too much faith in these people, you haven’t been paying attention since 2010. Nobody cared about austerity; nobody cares about this. The only thing that may actually bring down this useless government is inflation because that hits Karen and Mark where it hurts.

I care and most people I know and speak to (proper grown-ups in their 40's with real jobs and knowledge and concern over the wider issues affecting the country) also care about this.

I suggest you do more credible research before you (repeatedly) state nobody cares as you are clearly wrong

Lots of people care, nice if you to dismiss their views.

You're trying to change the narrative into "bringing down the government".

That is different to "nobody cares".

Lots of people do care about this, whether it'll bring down the government is a separate issue.

Once again you're simply making baseless claims that run contrary to the evidence. Polling for the Tories and Johnson in particular is a car crash currently, Tory MPs are receiving hundreds of emails from constituents expressing how unhappy they are. The noises from the red wall seats are that they've lost all trust in Johnson (see Glassers' post in the Labour polling thread, plus other news sources that have been canvassing public opinion).

You may think people don't care, but all of the evidence suggests that a lot of people do care. I know that being able to evidence your views isn't important to you especially, but to most of us it matters.

that's very clever - except that all the evidence is that this issue has huge traction with the public and a large majority are very angry about it. apart from that you're spot on.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

No, that's not what I said -- classic whataboutery - for absolute clarity....

1, Lots of people care that I know - predominately my social circle are people in a range of professions in their 40's and so those tend to be the people I speak to the most
2, I didn't mention anything about McDonalds but as it happens I have a neice who works at one and a daughter who works in a supermarket.

You are trying to invent a prejudice for me to deflect that you're assertion is demonstrably wrong. You need to grow up and learn to accept your mistakes and learn from them.

People do, and should, reply to incorrect information/statements to avoid the risk of people thinking that view is representative of the wider community.

On a few threads you've continually made the same incorrect statement that nobody cares about the current political situation - this is patently untrue. If you stop posting it people won't respond on that point - it's really not complicated

Polling is used to influence public opinion not reflect it. I especially don’t think the “red wall” as you say really care about all this. They knew what and who they were voting for and did it anyway.
