Indeed.
Ditto that Starmer and co thought it through in any more coherent sense than a pure Red team vs. Blue team win.
Not exactly the best way to distance themselves from unprincipled, self-serving careerists by literally demonstrating they’re exactly the same. Even tactically, it seems to have stabilised the mood around Johnson and brought them into the ugly fight.
Feck them all.
You seem to think there's a third option in addition to the Tories and Labour ruling.
I can't see it myself - its either Boris's mob or Starmer's - pick which side you're on.
Even if you see it as a horrendous choice between sh1t and sh1tter, you must still prefer sh1t surely?!
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Absolutely, the SNP! 😀
But as far as Westminster is concerned, given both Labour and the Tories have moved right effectively because UKIP/Brexit Party have dragged them there. Then hopefully the Green Party can drag them the other way – this time for good and something real rather than for something largely evil and imagined.
I think that would be a far better use of my vote and public voice than supporting the sleepwalking, status quo politics that’s gotten us into this state.

Like with Ponce Andrew the public have already made their mind. Whatever comes back from the enquiry is immaterial. The bloated buffoon may try to cling on based on some technicality, but the damage has already been done.
Take a look at the damage done to the libdems over student loans, Majors sleaze problems.
The longer this idiot stays the worse it becomes as more revelations tumble out. This time claims over 'blackmail' towards fellow Tory MPs.
The thought has to be that more will follow.

In your terms, there will be two versions of the status quo available at the next election - I just can't fathom why any non-tory would effectively abstain and risk allowing the worst option back in. I do see your point, but it just seems to me we have a fairly binary choice coming,

Strange that the LibDems aren’t the focus of this issue as they occupy the area where the electoral battle is taking place ...
But I have a suspicion that a lot of people don’t really care if the Labour Right or the Tories win. First and foremost, for them it’s the social democrats and democratic socialists that must be neutralised without making any concessions in exchange for their support.
Voting for your type of politics seems a complete dead end. However you look at it.

you almost wonder if that defection was engineered by the Tory whips to galvanise support for Boris and that have played Starmer brilliantly
My local MP is deputy chief whip and apart from turning some Christmas lights on he has been absolutely invisible to constituents throughout all of this. Self preservation society.

It might be in Johnson’s interests but it certainly isn’t in the Tory party’s.
Every day he’s there, they haemorrhage more support and more votes, and ever more of them make themselves look ridiculous in trying to defend the obviously indefensible.
I suspect Labour and Starmer will be delighted if Johnson clings on for as long as possible, it’s death by a thousand cuts and, at least in my brick of the red wall, utterly devastating to the Conservatives hopes of retaining support up here.

Maybe in a choice between sh1t and sh1tter you should go with sh1tter, hope it hits the fan and people fekkin wake up. Not that I would, but it is why I generally vote 'none of the above.'

on par with the Parrot Sketch in credibility - as the very idea that Tory whips could convince one of their own to defect, within a few days
dear god you have to wonder at what levels of desperation some are sinking to in order to put a pro government spin on what is obviously a massive blow
just take a few moments to work out the implications of that were it to come out
