Indeed. At this stage I'd prefer the whole thing was leaked today even if it undermined the Met investigation given the level of charges they are looking into. Many might not agree but the Met investigation is a distraction at this point. SB

it is bizarre that a report into the credibility of our political system should be affected in any way by a police investigation that might result in a few fines of a few hundred £. ridiculous.

So today is Sue Gray day then... on 14:09 - Jan 31 with 1566 views | LankHenners | This just feels like the Mueller Report 2 - lots of people getting themselves excited over what they think will be the most important piece of documentation this century when in reality everyone pretty much knows what went on anyway and at the end of the day the situation will remain basically the same as it does now. A couple of expendable people might get booted or shoved elsewhere as some sort of 'punishment' but unless rebel MPs get really riled up about it and the Daily Mail and associated media properly turn then we're as we are, which is the way things have been for years.

As someone pointed out, we know of 13 parties. If any are missing, we know those are the most serious and part of the Met investigation. That they are missing isn't the defence they think it is.

Indeed. I've referred a few times elsewhere to the parallels with Trump/Mueller. Topic different, but definitely in the way the end result is 'used' is feeling similar, especially if Boris says this exonerates him

serious in the sense that they're the ones that might end up in someone being fined. but not necessarily the events most closely linked to boris.

I expect there will be significant cross-over. However, today's report will only contain those 'parties' where the police believe no rules were broken. So, it's not going to cover very much is it? How Boris spins this will either kill or cure I assume now.

Skimmed it - total whitewash - absolutely pointless document. Point 15. No details about even the four events in which the OB have no interest. (I have very little relevant experience for coming to the above conclusion, but so what.)

It's not the report she wanted to relase: "it is not possible at present to provide a meaningful report setting out and analysing the extensive factual information I have been able to gather."

3 empty pages. Perhaps one of Carrie's friends with the code to number 10 can leak the entire thing, he seems to leave important papers lying around for them to see most of the time. SB

So Boris as head of Govt is responsible for the failures of leadership or was let down by his senior staff. Take yer pick. As an aside, 12 of the 16 parties are with the Met - so plenty to run yet imho.

That's very clear. Someone, who I assume is in her team, has said to journalists the full report will follow What little she has said, still makes it very uncomfortable for Johnson. It's up to the Journalists and MPs to keep it in the spotlight until she can report fully

True, but by providing detail for the four non-excluded events, such as attendees (name OR job descriptions), location, setting, length of event, etc. and assessment of compliance with with the contemporary Covid regulations, we could have begun to form an opinion as to what the culture was like, even without detail of the (presumably) more serious failures in the excluded events.

The one urgent recommendation seems to be for more office space in No. 10! Anyone with a backbone would resign and blow the whistle.

I'm not sure any of it has been redacted. The page marked "this page has been left intentionally blank" is, I would suspect, a legitimately blank page. It's the same as you tend to find in exam papers so that there can be no worry that contents have been left out.
