Team v MK Dons 18:43 - Feb 9 with 2590 views | quad | Walton Donacien Wolf Edmundson Burns Aluko Morsy Thompson Celina Chaplin Norwood Not impressed with Bonne, Evans or Bakinson overall against a poor Doncaster side, so I'd go with this. If Mathie thinks Aluko can play in midfield that's good enough for me. Either this or play Evans/Bakinson alongside Morsy and play Celina and Aluko as no.10s behind Chaplin up front. Bonne needs to be dropped, his confidence is shot to bits.

Team v MK Dons on 04:37 - Feb 10 by Battersea_Blue | Personally, I just don't rate Evans. Flatters to deceive imho. He does a job, yes, but there's very few forward thinking passes or creativeness in him whatsoever from what I see. If Morsy plays I don't see the need for another ball winner/slogger in midfield, who's part injured anyway and imho a player who is waiting for a serious mistake to happen. I'd go with:- Walton Janoi Wolf Fridge Burns Morsy Balkinson Thompson Chaplin Aluko Celina Let's go win the game. |
I think the key word you use there is ‘waiting’! He hasn’t made the mistakes yet that have led to goals (apart from one early in the season) so I don’t think it’s too much of a worry. He does a specific job for the team so I don’t think we need to look for much more from him that we’re seeing already.

Team v MK Dons on 19:25 - Feb 9 by quad | I really like this team. I might be in the minority but I think maybe I prefer Bakinson to Evans. Million dollar question is could Aluko, Celina and Chaplin be an effective front 3 without an out and out striker? Chaplin's not much of an aerial threat is he? |
Bonne wasn’t much of an aeiel threat on Tuesday 😂 If fit then I’d go with a Evans. He’s played a lot of games with Morsy and the pair know each other’s game well. I don’t think MK Dons is a match to go into with a central midfield pairing who aren’t yet on the same wavelength.

Team v MK Dons on 22:15 - Feb 9 by Dubtractor | This, with possibly Evans for Bakinson, but either would be fine. |
It will be interesting to see whether McKenna picks Evans (for whom he's had very positive things to say), or Bakinson (his own signing). In my view they've both been acceptable in Morsy's absence without setting the world alight.

I can't see past Evans to start but would expect Bakinson to be added to the mix late on if we have a lead to protect. From his own comments he seems to accept that he will play some matches and come on as sub for others.

Team v MK Dons on 22:13 - Feb 9 by Mullet | Bonne is getting in positions to score so alongside his overall work, I think the concern is becoming an echo chamber in some senses. I'd have him on and change it when legs get tired. All the bench options can cause problems with 20-30 mins left. Celina can take free kicks and his corners aren't demonstrably worse given how bad they've been all season. Plus I think we can mix up short corners in this team and still get crosses in. |
He'll play Saturday, I'm sure. McKenna's not as reactionary as some of our fans.

Whilst I believe he will play sat. He was dropped recently, so it's not a given

Rotated him out for (ostensibly) the easiest of 3 games in 7 days?

I get what you're saying but for a goal shy striker recently, you'd maybe see a game like that as a chance for said striker to get that goal scoring touch again. No one ones, I like Bonne overall, he's not a perfect striker of course, but he's a nuisance. I'd buy him summer if it doesnt break the bank though. But for sat, I expect him to play but also wouldn't be suprised to see something different

Walton Donacien - Woolfenden - Edmundson Burns - Morsy - Evans - Thompson Chaplin - Celina Pigott I like Bonne, but he looks a shadow of his early season form. To have his three chances on Tuesday and not put one away was staggering.

Anyone who hasn't included either Bonne, Norwood or Pig are wrong. We're a league one side, can you honestly see us trying to play without a striker? Absolutely no chance.

Yep, seems madness, Celina has scored 4, Aluko 3 and Chaplin with 7. Hardly prolific, we need out and out strikers against MK on Sat, IMHO.

Not when you see who's promoting it... Pretty certain only Spain have successfully managed something similar at the 2010(?) World Cup, so why on earth would we do it after we've won 6/8! Madness indeed.

I sometimes wonder how much football people watch. Even really good strikers miss 3 out of every 4 chances, there's nothing "staggering" about a striker not scoring from 3 headers.
