We've conceded 6 goals in 16 games under McKenna 07:47 - Mar 20 with 3809 viewstractorboy1978

SIX!

It's looking too late now and we are relying on winning 6 or 7 from 7 games and other results going for us, however, we have a fantastic base to build on next season. A full pre-season with these players for McKenna, a few small tweaks, a couple of new bodies in that suit his system and style of play.

I know we say it every year but next season will be a good season.

Every game that we don’t score more goals than the opposition is a wasted opportunity. Not letting goals in is just a wasted opportunity

I'm sure that sounded intelligent in your head.

Presumably Cook was just about to make the team gel by changing formation, restoring the likes of Woolfy and Jackson to the fold and making actual tactical changes in games to affect the outcome

Seriously though well done for choosing the day after we concede a 95th minute equaliser at one of the top sides in the division to resume your whole ‘sacking manager who failed badly with 2 different squads was ridiculous’ campaign

Lambert REALLY did a number on some people didn't he?

STILL there's holdouts who'd rather see Improved Performances rather than actual wins.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

It is an unfair comparison you make though - this squad of players have now got to know each other - you are judging Cook on this time where the squad had just been assembled.

We are 11th in the form table over the past six games and we have played:

- Cheltenham Town
- Morecambe
- Fleetwood Town
- Lincoln City
- Portsmouth
- Oxford United

Honestly, I think we need another 3 or 4 quality signing in the summer. We are still way off being a top two side.

People will always moan about Cook's stats, but I saw him get the team playing like a top two side on a few occasions, the consistency had just not come at that point.

I do however think McKenna will get us up, but Cook would have done as well. With the resources they have available to them, both would / will succeed.

Excluding perhaps Portsmouth away please name them. We didn't look overly convincing even at home to Doncaster, until the third went in, or away to Wycombe with two late goals lessening the pressure and improving the scoreline.

When we’re keeping so many clean sheets we should be seeing a win rate of more than just over 50% really.

Yep, as much as a sickener as that was at the weekend - I ccan't help but feel positive about the club, the fanbase, the team, the players and the management - basically everything about ITFC.

The fans did the club proud at the weekend, and the team did the fans proud - how often have we been truly able to say that over the last 5 years?
