Shoulda known, fairytale story always wins! So pleased for the Waley-Cohens, well done to Sam the Am on his retirement ride - that'll be some 40th birthday party next week :)

Happy to report 0 fatalities in the race.
Sadly not true.

And now Eclair surf.
"Traumatic head injury" apparently.
First time 2 horses have died in the race since 2012.
I always enjoy the national and like many others, it's the only race I really bet on. That said, 2 horse deaths and 2 others across the festival does cast a shadow over the spectacle.
Edit: I'm disappointed the official line was that all 40 horses returned safely to their stables. Though they may have all made it back, it's stretching the truth a little.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Sadly it has turned out to be a winning bet.
Two horses dead after running in the Grand National 2022.
To be honest, back in their stables was a bit disingenuous in the first place from them since ITV had already said a couple of horses were back in their stables and still being looked at.
