Christ.... we need a couple more Morsy types in the team. Share it around a bit. He gets targeted because he's the only one who consistently gives it back. Let McKenna deal with the concerns about him missing games. And let Ashton worry about paying him 10k+ a week when he's not available. The positives outweigh the negatives of how he plays and its a back-handed compliment to him that there's concerns about him missing games - because he's a bloody good player who plays on the edge.
We've spunked enough points through letting in silly goals or not creating enough chances yet we're worrying about someone potentially racking up yellow cards. Can't we concentrate on that rather than something that might become a problem. |  | | |

And as it has been pointed out to you on NUMEROUS occasions the red card at boro before he joined us was farcical at best and the 4 game ban he got for the incident vs Accrington was only because their chairman made such a big deal of it to his pals at the FA, not because the ref sent him off. Those 15 yellows have no significance especially seeing as 10 of those are in the league but at no point has he been suspended under the 5 or 10 card ruling (I’d actually suggest that it means he knows just how to stay on the right side of the rules, something we have missed for years) | |

No. What I have consistently said is, all these bookings will cost us sooner or later and his behaviour on the pitch is unacceptable for that reason. I don’t understand why so many of his stans are finding this controversial. It’s not like I’m saying he’s rubbish even if he is captain of a team marooned in the middle of division 3. | |

It's just a perspective thing. Morsy's bookings haven't caused us to drop points. There's more important factors to work on to make us improve.
I welcome the day when the most important thing to worry about is Morsy's disciplinary record. It would mean we've finally nearly nailed it.

Between breaking into senior football in 2010 and signing for us in 2022, Morsy missed 6 games through suspension, over the course of 11 seasons.
It hasn't habitually been an issue for him. |
You’ve presumably taken that from Transfermarkt which isn’t a complete record as:
a) some of the entries on there have a question mark over the number of games missed, and
b) it doesn’t have every suspension on there, for example a quick Google of ‘Samy Morsy suspended’ brings up the following which isn’t listed, https://www.kingfut.com/2017/09/21/cook-defends-morsy-suspension/amp/
The above link hardly covers him in glory either given it shows him being the first player to be suspended that season for 5 bookings and notes that he will miss an important top of the table clash
An alternative summary would be that Morsy has missed at least 14 games through suspension in the last 5 years, based on what we know and possibly more that isn’t shown

If he was a striker that we were looking to sign and you swapped the yellow cards/suspensions for goals you’d say this season was an anomaly and that it shouldn’t be taken as how he has performed over his entire career.
Face it you don’t like the guy and you’re trying to find an excuse to meet your narrative!

So in a 46 games season he would, on average, be booked 13 times and sent off 0.9 times.
So the reality is he won't ever play a 46 game season as he will miss games through suspension! | |
