The 'special military operation' continues to reach new lows. on 08:02 - Feb 19 by Herbivore | The mainstream media is generally very critical of Trump (in the UK and Europe at least) and call out his bullsh!t. What makes you think they'll push the line that Ukraine started the war when they've been almost universally supportive of Ukraine? I'd be much more worried about the narratives that'll be pushed on X to be honest. |
Fair points and hopefully you are right🤞but even some countries in Europe are not actually friendly to Ukraine are they? Trump is now parroting the Kremlin line that Ukraine should have elections before ‘peace’ talks although how is that possible with 18% of your country occupied by an invading army🤔 [Post edited 19 Feb 9:50]

Trump justifying Russia’s invasion? It’s the same as the victim of assault being told they asked for it. As for elections, I’m amazed that sack of sht Lavrov could keep a straight face coming out with that one given how ‘elections’ work in Russia. I presume when an opponent to Putin falls out of a 10 storey building his death is his fault for not learning to fly quick enough. Navalny? His murder in a gulag was his fault because he didn’t eat his greens. This ‘normalising’ of Putin, back in the international fold, statesman, deal maker, equal makes me sick. He’s a murdering bit of dirt who should be killed or at worst continue to be treated as the pariah he is. But then the so called ‘leader of the free world’ (now there’s a joke) is little better. At least Trump hasn’t murdered 1000s of people - yet. No doubt if he ethnically cleanses Gaza, there will be an additional kiss on Putin’s Christmas Card. [Post edited 19 Feb 9:02]

The 'special military operation' continues to reach new lows. on 12:12 - Mar 1 with 2051 views | Eireannach_gorm | Vance ( the anti Europe ideologist ) started the sh1t show. Seem to be planned to humiliate Zelenskyy having him interjecting. Zelenskyy: Have you ever been to Ukraine that you are saying what problems we have? Vance: I’ve actually watched and seen the stories and I know what happens is you bring people, you bring them on a propaganda tour, Mr. President. Do you disagree that you’ve had problems with bringing people into your military? And do you think that is respectful for—

Well, with the Balkans, Baltics and Poland to take and a wartime economy to back it, the only peace he’s interested in is a piece of Western Europe.

I'm dubious on this. The relative speed differences between a drone and a fighter plane are huge. Missile locking on a plane and taking it out is one thing, but a drone, really ? I don't see it, some one explain it to me. It would have to be a bit of a fluke.

Why would relative speeds matter? The relative speed of a land based missile is zero when it's launched from a static launcher, it's the missile that is faster than the jet, not the launch platform. Agree we need more information but it's far from impossible to hit a plane with a missile from virtually any initial launch platform. SB

don't see it, a guided missile can chase after a plane, or intercept it etc, how is a drone doing that. The plane would literally have to blunder into it to give the drone a chance of a hit.

Some drone boats have been converted/ built to take AAM missiles! That’s what bought down at least one SU30 over the Black Sea👍 https://www.twz.com/news-features/two-russian-su-30-flankers-downed-by-aim-9s-fi [Post edited 4 May 13:36]

The plane was shot by a guided missile, but it was launched from a small unmanned boat. Allegedly at this point of course.

I don't think talks at the moment stand any chance Putin is still wedded to his fantasy of Greater Russia, all the former Soviet states united under his governance as Vlad The Great Sadly, the only show in town is to increase military and economic pressure to such a point that even he realises that his aim cannot be acheived And yes.... Trumplethinskin is a narcistic pr1ck, but after his 111 days as Prez, even he will soon come to realise that the obstacle to peace is..... the tvvat who started the war

The temptation to accept any peace to stop the war must be resisted. Not all peace is created equal...Bosnia’s experience shows how political paralysis, born from structural compromise, can entrench instability rather than resolve it. For Ukraine, that would mean a future shaped not by peace, but by permanent vulnerability.'

And the long retired Soviet officer living in Ukraine who believes that giving into Putin is the worst thing to do. [Post edited 18 Feb 21:22]

I don't think the Soviet flag indicates division in the Russian ranks, it's a knowing nod to the fact that the land that they are invading used to be part of one Union of Republics with Russia.

Goes with Pootins narrative of resurrecting the Soviet Union, which one of his minions claimed last week that it had not been disbanded legally🙄

Even if you assume over claiming on Ukraine’s part and they only destroyed a half a dozen Russian aircraft, that’s a big slap in the chops for the old mass murderer and some achievement by ingenious Ukraine. Starmer could do worse than recruit a few Ukrainians to teach the U.K. how to do it - if we have the money, of course. Drone warfare is a real game changer I expect that animal Putin will be lobbing even more missiles and drones than usual at those poor people in the next few days. I see Russia is building up for a large scale offensive in the next few months, presumably in an effort to smash Ukraine.

A perhaps predictable but still disappointing addendum to this story: 'False online claims have been going viral after Ukraine saw its biggest wartime protests last night. Among those promoting misleading claims was US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s long opposed sending aid to Ukraine. In a post that has now been viewed over 1m views on X, she claimed it was President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to “to make a peace deal and end the war” that sparked the protests. In fact, the protests have nothing to do with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. People in several major cities took to the streets last night to protest against a new law curtailing the powers of anti-corruption bodies.' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cvg82vmnnjnt @ 10:53
