The 'special military operation' continues to reach new lows. on 16:12 - Nov 28 with 7407 views | Kropotkin123 | Russian positions across the Dnipro River. Ukraine will likely have to shell some of these positions ("provoke Russia" for those operating in Russian terminology) to push Russia back, before they can land, if they intend to use this route. ISW: Russian troops are preparing either to defend in depth or to conduct operational or strategic delay operations. Russian forces clearly do not expect to be able to prevent Ukrainian forces from getting across the river, nor are the Russians prioritizing defensive positions to stop such a crossing. Note, ISW stress that this is not a prediction that Ukraine will attempt to cross or see it as their best strategic option.

If there is a realistic fear that Putin might use nuclear weapons, we should worry about what they might do in withdrawing from here too.

He won’t use nuclear weapons. No chance. He seen the west recoil in fear of his threats and because of that he continues to play them. But if he uses any, it’ll be over for him and he knows it. So do his generals. There’s nothing in it for him. Even if he summoned the insanity, his senior partner, the Chinese, would stop him. It’s the last they they want or need.

I agree. It is a sabre-rattling empty threat. However, he (or some of his more mad troops) could easily sabotage a nuclear site. Given how little effect Chernobyl had on Russia, I can see them do it and try to blame Ukraine for it.

It’d probably be over by now and the vast majority would be sucking up to Putin. People forget rather quickly if there is something in it for them - like cheap energy and party …. ‘donations’ As it goes, it’s not just about hardware. I suspect the training US and UK have provided since the disgrace of 2014 has made a massive difference.

I can’t believe your sound bites are serious if your answer to one country being invaded, starved, stripped and destroyed by another is to bend the knee to the aggressor. Nah, you’re on a wind up. |

That’s for the Ukrainians to decide, not the West, and not any Russian cucks. I see Russia is “open to talks…but they must meet Moscow’s demands” (reported by Reuters). Not sure Vladolf quite understands what a negotiation is.

1. You have inaccurately referenced an opinion piece from the pope 2. You have incorrectly referenced an organisation that does not support your position. 3. You have used sources that don't support your position and in the process have demonstrated you don't understand them. 4. You have infered your own opinion and passed it off as a fierce critic of US media and government critic 5. You have quoted a humourist who has been dead for over a century, in an attempt to cover your unfounded opinions. 6. You have linked people to theories of war propaganda on Wikipedia because you have demonstrated you can't engage with actual evidence. 7. You have chosen to ignore all evidence that contradicts your pre-formed opinion 8. You have used phases and excuses Russia uses to justify their illegal and unprovoked war. - People have died because of Russia's illegal and unprovoked war. - There are civilian mass graves as a result of people killed in Russia occupied territories by Russia - Russia attacked in 2014, sustained covert warfare during "peace", and attacked in 2022. People throughout this time have died. There is no peace with a country that wants the other to cease existing. As someone who's family has given shelter to displaced Ukrainians. As someone who's wife's Russian friend has been uncontactable since she protested on social media at the start of the war. As someone who has Ukrainian colleges. As someone who helped a Russian come to Canada who turned his house over to his displaced Ukrainian extended family. You are the sick one. It is clear your ambition is to get this thread pulled. I hope the board admin act before you fulfill your objective. Your posts have consistently been disingenuous and disgusting. [Post edited 2 Dec 2022 13:07]

100k+ have likely died. It could be much greater when we find out the true death toll of Russia's attacks on Mariupol. No one else needs to die though. However until Russia leaves, either willingly or through force, there will continue to be atrocities and mass graves popping up in occupied Ukranian cities. A ceasefire on current lines is a death sentence for thousands caught in Vladolf's (I like that moniker for him!) Clutches and is not a peace, but breathing space so he can reconstitute his forces.

Where has anyone on here said that many it is it is not enough? Stop making stuff up! You still haven't answered my question on what concessions you believe Ukraine should make to bring peace. I wonder why.

Firstly, I’m not your mate. Secondly, please explain why you chose to be rude towards me when I haven’t been to you. Thirdly please point to where myself or anyone else has suggested that ‘however many it is not enough’ in respect to the number of people who have died already. [Post edited 3 Dec 2022 7:57]

Entrenched views, brainwashed. There's been a whole army of them sharing this poster's views working its way through Ukraine for some months now. Raping and murdering and stealing in the name of some made-up 'both sides' argument.

I am no longer replying to the Putin supporter so let him do his worst. I will point out that any further deaths could be immediately stopped by Putin withdrawing his forces from Ukraine. He will not be doing that of course because he does not care about Russian lives let alone Ukrainian ones. https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-village-mobilization-ukraine-impact-far-east/3215
