My parents used to own a wicker chair when I was a kid. It was quite big and very uncomfortable to seat on which for a chair isn’t good. Think they brought in from a old furniture shop which was almost opposite the old regent cinema in Ipswich - no idea what that building is used for now.
Edit. Think it was a pizza or Italian restaurant at some point in the early 90s. [Post edited 18 May 2022 17:46]

As a kid, there was a small wicker chair in my bedroom. It was uncomfortable and as you rightly say was a perfectly designed trap for dust, dirt and a home for mini-beasts It was rubbish, basically.
It looks quite nice in a conservatory but even if I had one of those, I wouldn’t bother with wicker furniture. Lloyd Loom is the famous name with that stuff and I suspect if you have an old pre war chair, it has a value. |  | | |
