Fans queuing outside with tickets for a gate thatâ€™s been shut for no reason just been tear gassed. Throughly unpleasant experience and so dangerous. This isnâ€™t how fans should be treated in a civilised society. Unacceptable

This is the Liverpool end five mins before the scheduled kick-off time. Lots of empty seats. My mate Nick arrived at the stadium two hours before kick-off and is still outside. The queues seem to be only at the Liverpool end. No idea why that is - later arriving, more thorough searches, who knows. The aerial shots they've just shown still show loads of people the gates.

I suppose it depends on your definition of late. Maybe the ground wanted them there 4 hours before lol.

2.5 hours would seem more than sufficient wouldn't it. I wonder when the Madrid fans turned up and if they've been treated differently?

Spanish tv have a camera at Gate Z where the Liverpool fans are waiting to get as the gate only opened 2 minutes ago. They're remarkably calm.

The tv is reporting that ticketless fans made it past the outer controls and that's where the problem has come from.

Norwegian tv reporting that fans have had tickets stolen from them at the gates. Probably Chelsea fans

There were some people shown climbing the fence to get into the stadium but it was a handful and didn't see anyone make it. The Liverpool fans are still waiting patiently. There must be a couple of thousand still outside.

Odd that I can't see any police at all. Gate Y where other Liverpool fans are waiting is still closed.

If people been queueing for several hours, have ticket and look like they are going to miss the match, then you can understand why they would try and climb the fence.

When you get to stadium, Liverpool fans are being channelled away from their end to the Madrid end! And there is one tiny entrance for ticket holders. When I left there was whistling and it was tense. It was totally blocked. Now in the stadium, LFC end noticeably emptyâ€¦

How do you know who’s got a ticket? On BT earlier they were saying how Liverpool didn’t have enough tickets and that loads of fans went over anyway. Now I’m not saying they don’t have tickets, but how do you know they do?

Stadium looks reasonably full now. Are there still significant numbers of fans outside? When is kick off scheduled now?

Think 8 30. Latest tweets showing there's still alot of fans outside and teargas and at the Liverpool end apparently 1 entrance open now but Madrid fans getting in there too

The gate where they were waiting opened 10 minutes after the match was supposed to start. To be fair the behaviour was completely restrained in the circumstances from what is being shown here.
