Just received a CV... 10:29 - Jul 6 with 3490 views | clive_baker | For a vacancy in my team. The chap describes himself as a 'thought leader' and a 'passion for progressional excellence'. What the f*** does that even mean? Bell end.

Just say the thing! You don't need to say you're conscious of it, we get that you are if you just say it FFS.

Just received a CV... on 12:00 - Jul 6 with 738 views | SE1blue | It’s not the language I would use, but based on some of the jargon employers use in job postings and Linkedin etc., I’m never surprised when applicants do this. They probably have a much different persona than their CV suggests. Mocking someone looking for work on a public forum (albeit anonymously) isn’t the best look either though.

I'd rather had a lady being conscious of things rather than the sun.

I can't stand nonsense jargon in professional world. It's utterly pointless and gives absolutely no idea of whether someone can do a job at all. In fact i find it just promotes inefficiency. the number of 6 figure salaries companies pay out for absolutely nothing is astonishing. I'd completely dismiss this BS type of jargon on CVs, I'd only be looking for achievements and evidence of actual accomplishment. If he's got that then fair enough, otherwise its going in the shredder for me. You need lighten up--- i actually find language used on CV is a fairly good indicator of work based personality

Just received a CV... on 10:38 - Jul 6 by jeera | People have been brainwashed into speaking in cliches? Every time I now listen to a politician I shake my head in despair as they churn out the same meaningless crap. It's found its way into everyday life I suppose. Mind you, it's also fair to say corporate speak has been around for some time so maybe it's just that. Some people like the sound of it and so try it out on others thinking it sounds important. Oh look, Zahawi just said "deliver/delivery" about 14 times in an interview. |
Zahawi is looking ahead to his next job at Deliveroo.

That's just a very weird take. Did you think about how daft your point sounded before posting, or are you only realizing now?
Just received a CV... on 13:57 - Jul 6 with 526 views | TractorBrew | I had this recently with a recent graduate positioning themselves as a thought leader is Industry 4.0... On the flipside, I am always being invited by recruiters to "join a rocketship" or similar BS. I think they have tick list of terms which will make you think its a super sexy job, including "Unicorn", "seed funding" and "disruptive"

Ah...so a thought leader is someone who sits around thinking about how to do a particular task, rather than getting off their arse and actually doing it...
