Does anyone else look at the list of candidates, however long or short it is and think ‘Bristol Scale’? What an absolute national disaster the past six years have been.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Probably the sanest one left (although, as with all of them, with questions over policy) so of course he's out.

Think Mordaunt will get overhauled by Truss and it will be her v Sunak in the membership vote.

Shame

Not one of the front bench seem to notice that BJ has made a massive mistake!

Be interesting to see where the loon vote goes once Banenough goes out next round.

I say 'interesting' I mean 'faintly terrifying'.

They know, they just don't care. They don't want to seem disloyal but at the same time, don't want to be overly supportive in public.

Tory party members are probably mad enough to vote Truss in, as well.

Are they even listening to him now?

He was a useful idiot for the far right, the Russian backers of the vote leave campaign and Steve Bannon.

Worryingly true.

The more worrying part is that the electorate probably will too.

I quite liked Peter Hitchens quote yesterday.
If you ask me who is my favourite among the candidates, I will ask you in return. “What is your favourite disease?”.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

The only one who has demonstrated and pursued ideals of integrity? Of course he was out!

It says a lot about them that someone as mad and vile as Hitchens can't find a favourite.

It does now beg the question of who Cpl Tugen Hishat's supporters vote for

If they chose to swap their support to Bad enoch they will knock Truss out

They can then vote for their real choice on Weds, from the final three
.
All too reminiscent of PR where decisions are taken out of the hands of voters, and decided by a handful of politicians instead.

The party membership may well want Truss, but 15 MPs can now ensure she is out.

Their natural move is to mordaunt presumably. The supporters of evidence based policy like homeopathy....

But also someone who was rather too hawkish towards Russia for my liking.

Sitters is the 12th man of political commentary, based on his OP.

Then if they want Dormant then their the best move would be to vote for Dad enoch and so knock out Truss..

Then on Weds switch their votes to Dormant ti ensure she is in the final two with Sunak.

Back Dormant now, and you risk Bad enochs votes on Weds being switched to Truss, enough to knock out Dormant

I really didn't know what Bristol Scale was (until I just looked it up) so I thought it must be something to do with Mordaunt's top hamper!

I guess the least bad option is Sunak now, in the hope that he has a bit of decency (relatively?) about him and will not do, or allow to be done, too much damage before the next GE.

I can't see any of the others holding it together through drought, war and pestilence for the rest of this year, let alone until 2024/25.
