Both Woolf and Edmundson would learn a lot from playing alongside him.

Keogh on 21:36 - Aug 30 with 3229 views | ArnieM | Keogh is a very good CB. He was a regular in the Championship for Blackpool, so by default I’d probably better than either Woolfie or Edmundson . I bet he commands thff eg box better than either of those two .

Doesn’t matter. If he’s the better player, he should play.

He’s a squad player. Will play when injuries or a dip in form. Cant see him in front of either of them or even Burgess. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Keogh on 21:47 - Aug 30 with 2914 views | RobTheMonk | Even if he's not playing, the defence will be better for having him around in training.

He will start in front of Burgess I would have thought, or what’s the point

Really? Keogh was a Championship regular before he signed and now you have him 5th choice in League One? 🤷ðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸

He is a talker and motivator on the pitch as well as a good knowledge of defence organisation.

You can't see such an experienced and commanding defender in Keogh in front of ... Burgess? Keogh has to be a starter in the league games. Watch last Saturdays goals and the manner in which we conceded them if you have any doubts.
Keogh on 22:02 - Aug 30 with 2583 views | pointofblue | I doubt Keogh will start on Saturday - not after playing 68 minutes tonight in his first match of the season. But the reason we bought him in is to impart his wisdom to younger defenders and possibly show that experience on the pitch. In my mind, logically, it'd be the centre position of the three where he would play - same as tonight - so Woolfenden would be more at risk. It'd take good man management to drop him or Edmundson at the moment, especially if they make an error before the axe.

Keogh on 22:04 - Aug 30 with 2542 views | FrimleyBlue | I'll be honest, I'd dread seeing Keogh and Burgess together in a league game, their combined lack of pace would be a disaster in the making imo.
| |
Keogh on 22:07 - Aug 30 with 2515 views | PioneerBlue | He’s here to provide competition and keep training pressure on Wolf and Edmundson; offer training numbers; provide experience and step in to stabilise if/when we go on any goal conceding runs… He doesn’t have to be a starter unless KMcK feels that’s necessary imo.

Keogh on 06:43 - Aug 31 with 1949 views | kiwiblue | Yes he was commanding and has that threatening streak which will be important in weeks to come. Also Ball was imposing.
Keogh on 06:56 - Aug 31 with 1910 views | Hullblue | Our defensive record with this back three is unbelievable - until Saturday we’d had more clean sheets than goals conceded! That’s ridiculous - and so is the idea of dropping one of them, I’m afraid.

Whether he is better or not, he brings leadership and calmness to the backline. He was very vocal last night. Didn’t stop talking and organising. That’s something we lack at the moment. In most games we seem to have a 15 minute wobble at the back. I think he would rally the troops and calm everybody down. That said, I can’t see him playing twice in a week so he won’t be starting on Saturday.

Keogh on 07:42 - Aug 31 with 1763 views | fatronaldo | Me as an old defender myself thought he was outstanding and proactive in handling the little things so calmly. The things that mount up to dangerous situations if not handled correctly. He made all that look so easy, calm and composed. Even though our defence is much better than it was a year ago, it is still wobbly in periods in games. There are a lot of things that all our other defenders need to learn from him. He should start in the league once fully fit in my opinion.
Keogh on 10:06 - Aug 31 with 1474 views | clive_baker | Ideally he would be in the middle of a 3 as he's a real organiser and talker, commanding in the air but probably not the fastest. Blackpool fans raved about him, he's a bit of a rolls royce and while he won't be here in 3 years the impact he could have over the next 6 months could be huge. Personally, and this might be controversial, Woolfy would be the one to miss out purely on balance of the defence. JD right, Keogh centrally, Edmundson left is probably what I would go for IF Keogh is coming in. I don't see that he'll come in on the left of a 3, and JD rightly isn't going anywhere.

Keogh on 11:15 - Aug 31 with 1320 views | BiGDonnie | Na keep him as back up. I'd rather JD, Woolf and Fridge play every game unless form, injury or suspension says otherwise.

Keogh on 17:34 - Aug 31 with 1113 views | ChateauWines | When Berra arrived I stated he will be a starter once gets in side. I believe Keogh is the same. My hunch is for Edmondson, even of it means a move round. Pure experience and quality
