Just look at this polling of confidence ratings, even amongst Tory voters:

It doesn't get much more damning than that.

Oh no, wait, it does:

19% approval is still ridiculous, some right lemons out there is seems.

I saw today one international economist said the UK government economic policy gave the impression that "there were no adults in the room".

We are an embarrassment at the moment.

I suppose that if I was a millionaire, about to benefit from the extra £50k per annum coming my way, as well as having enough cash at hand to rake it in shorting the pound, I'd be pretty chuffed with how things are going right now.

Sadly I'm not, so I'm just as fecked off as everyone else.

There isn't 19% of the electorate in that positions so there is still some lemons in there.

Hard to believe that even many millionaires are approving, they might be getting extra from the tax changes but the weak pound is going to screw them on nice things they want because nearly all of those are imported.

It's just kids with an abacus unwilling to let the qualified adults with calculators check their working.

It's pathetic.

Yep, an absolute shambles.

I would try and see the funny side of it, but seeing as we're currently waiting for the chain to form/move date for our new house I'm mainly really bloody nervous. As it stands, if we're not moved before Christmas (when current mortgage offer runs to) we're likely to be £200-£300 a month worse off due to an increased mortgage rate, assuming the BoE do end up increasing the interest rate further. And that's before you take into account the general cost of living increases and energy price increases.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Bloody Building Societies pulling mortgages today now as well, just as I've got a house on the market. Couldn't the Government have waiting another month before having a meltdown? They'd done fack all for months, so I don't see why the sudden rush.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Virgin Money and Skipton have just said will l they will suspend all mortgage products from 8pm tonight for new customers because of the pound volatility.

They have really screwed this up hugely, I'm not even surprised letters are going in already.

Yep, who'd have predicted that Truss would be a clueless disaster? Oh, everyone....

I forgotten to mention in my previous woes, I work in the public sector, so add (more) pay freezes and job insecurity into the mix over the next 2 years.

Quite. Anyone who comes out with the 'it's only been a couple of weeks' line, must have been asleep for the last few years.

As with that clown Johnson, everyone (who matters, at least) knows she's a walking disaster. It's been obvious in her previous roles that she's pretty clueless, not too bright and dangerously ideologically driven (be it defending the indefensible in her previous role or now in her 'unleashed' form).

You are spot on. None of know how good or bad she will be.

But a few of us like wagers, so happily have one with you that she is not PM in 5 years time. Charity bet, loser pays £100 to a charity of the others' choice.

Perhaps he meant 'Clement was a good PM'. I think we'd all whole-heartedly agree with that.

if corbyn had done that, there would be wall to wall doom from all the media. murdoch prophesised a run on the pound never seen before if labour got in under corbyn pity he never saw this under a tory government then he would have been a prophet and not a naughty boy

My main client who told me weeks ago that dollar parity was coming and is a big fish in the investment world today assured me that a property price crash (circa 20%) is pretty much inevitable. 6 weeks ago he was cautious and non committal.
