Do you think they will get to silver members or be totally snapped up by ST holders?

We were 13 matches unbeaten going into that game too. One of my other memories of that day was listening to Man U v QPR commentary on the way home, with QPR winning 4-1.

Then the next game we went to Leeds in the FA Cup and won 1-0 and I almost got done for speeding on the way back on the A1.

That's some traffic jam then! 2 years. Vale was 1990, QPR won at United in 1992.

Sorry to be pedantic. I had to look it up because I remember watching the Man Utd v QPR game but I was also at Port Vale and couldn't work out how I'd managed both!

Unlikely I would've though, but possible.

It's utterly ridiculous when you think about it, not just this game but ticketing in general. There's probably 2,000 more Town fans who want to go, maybe more, yet there will be 10,000 empty seats.

It's not like we've kicked off anywhere or got beef with Charlton. We have a good rep generally when travelling so yes it is ridiculous to have fans unable to get tickets in a ground where there will be thousands of empty seats.

Poll: Is it now time to sack Paul Cook?

The Man U 1, QPR 4 game was a couple of years later on NYD 1992, I can remember watching that, which I wouldn't have done if I was in a traffic jam on the way back from Vale Park.

You can still get them if you keep refreshing. Random seats keep popping up. Just got a third for a mate.

I am not sure we covered ourselves in glory the last time we visited the Valley.

I reckon we could comfortably sell double their 3000 allocation. We sold 7k for MK Dons last year.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Apologies, you are indeed correct. According to https://uk.soccerway.com/matches/1990/01/01/ it was a 0-0 draw, but it was live on the radio I'm sure.

i just cant see it, that'll be for security reasons

The layout of the ground (entrances, walk throughs, lack of segregation) doesn’t lend itself to sectioning bits off. Pity as I’d have thought they could do with the revenue given how poor attendances have been this season.

Everyone walks down the same two streets to the station anyway.

Not Charlton's problem once you're on the street walking to the station its the Met police problem, whereas in the ground it is Charlton's problem hence the segregation

Yeah my point was it wouldn't change anything to give a few more tickets in either stand adjacent as it wouldn't change anything in terms of entrance/exits.

Last year (despite being our worst performance and lots of angry fans there were no issues before or after the game with both sets of fans mingling) - getting the same trains back into central and so on.

From recollection, it was only 3,000.

EDIT: according to the following link, it was 3,159. That article indicates just how shameful a lot of our fans were that day. There were certainly a lot of very angry men around me which I don't really understand as, for me, it's a case of follow the Town up or down.

There was a hell of a lot of kicking off last year at Charlton, so I imagine they will want to confine us to one part of the stadium.

The issue was they didn't even effing try that night. I remember when it was still only 1-0 and the ball went out for our throw in and nobody even went to get the ball... we were literally wasting time on behalf of Charlton.

Up or down is fine. As long as they're trying.

Admittedly a poor display but I think it has to be seen in the context of the turmoil of Cook's dismissal, given that quite a few of the players (Morsy, Evans, Chaplin, Walton) had come to the club largely on the basis of a very close link to him. In any event, maybe I'm just different but I've never booed or turned against the team in all my years of supporting the team.

I don't think that's the point. Unruliness is unruliness, so why would they offer us seating in parts of the ground that would be difficult to control, with the need for extra stewards etc?

they absolutely won't offer any more seats.

but i don't think that's down to last season's behaviour, wouldnt even be considered IMO, its purely down to they have an away stand for 3k people, they dont need to fanny about making extra seats for us

moving current season/ticket holders in thos sections.
sectioning off even more areas for security.
sectioning off toilet/bar facilities
drafting in extra stewards.

for a club that are being run terribly at the moment (so their forum suggests)

its just never gonna happen

You just know that’s going to happen.

The one Saturday between now and the end of time there’s no engineering works, they’ll go on strike.
