Fair play to Blue Action.

I'm not overly bothered by us playing in black but it's good that we have a group that keeps the flame burning.

"They didn't boo. They didn't walk out on 78 or 81 minutes en masse. They weren't calling for Ashton to get out of our club."

We know that you love a strawman. And here's one in full effect.

"They simply held up a smallish banner."

Look at the pictures. Smallish?!

This is the same logic that made you a u-turning Tory.

It's just down to the language used. We both disagreed with the banner on page one and we got very different reactions.

Go back and read your post. It's a little over the top. Lost me. Disgrace. etc.

That's how I felt when I heard it, YMMV.
What a waste of time and resources.
They could've made something positive (and a bit cheeky/making their point) with "Come on you blacks".
Just my opinion.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

You’ve probably spent more time posting in this thread moaning about the banner than the time it took me to make it.

He’ll be posting links to the results of two studies proving it is in FACT a ‘disgrace’ and then dying on a hill over it before long too.

I thought black v maroon for Ipswich v Derby was a really bad look, maybe that's just modern football and I'm a grumpy old man.

Storm in a tea cup, a few points here.

I wonder how many of the absolute Karen’s that are complaining actually bought one of the shirts and then said “I wonder when we’ll wear it as there are no clashes with our 2 kits in league 1”
Then there’s the EFL rules that allow this to happen once per season, you guys need to get over yourselves I’m afraid if this is the worst you’ve got to complain about!

I'm supportive of the black kit and being a weirdo with routines, actually cut out a few last night and embraced the black to banish this ridiculous sky tv run of games...now I don't know what to do for the next game lol!

Anyway, the banners are great, show that fans care and that they're engaged, just wanted to say though, when an ownership group aren't getting much wrong, keep up good dialogue with the club and avoid any clashes that aren't required at the moment.

That being said, it was subtle enough to be a statement that could be aimed at general football matters and not our black kit as such, so it's not really an issue.

As I said in my OP, I wasn't bothered by us playing in black. But it's nice to have a fan lead group keeping a watchful eye on the breaking of club traditions.

They didn't boo. They didn't walk out on 78 or 81 minutes en masse. They weren't calling for Ashton to get out of our club.

They simply held up a smallish banner that said "Tradition matters".

I'm sure Ashton and Leary would have seen this and taken on board their feelings. It's a matter of checks and balances.

I read somewhere that the club keeps tabs on stuff like this post. If true, it is good that TFS is being persistent with their feelings, as not everyone agrees with the banner and some people see no issue in giving fans the opportunity to see the black kit at home for one game.

I'd hope the Ashton and Leary take on board the feelings of all fans and not just those making banners. As you say, balances. TFS is the other side of the scales. It's nice that we have someone like TFS looking out for non-traditionalist values.
