Fair play to Blue Action.

I'm not overly bothered by us playing in black but it's good that we have a group that keeps the flame burning.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

That’s fair enough mate, respect your opinion.

We’re not kicking up a fuss about it, and I don’t think the banner was over the top, but we wanted to let those in charge know that these things do matter to some of us, even if it is just one game.

As I posted before, to me it’s the precedent that it sets. If it’s accepted by the entire fanbase that we don’t mind changing colours, what comes next? It might well be nothing, but I think it’s important to let it be known the first time it happens that not everyone is happy about it.

100% agree. There may not be anything in it, and happy for it to be worn for the one game. But if
Nobody makes a fuss or even questions it, then it looks like we don’t care. The fans have came back in droves since the takeover and everything they have done has been fantastic for the club. But it’s just a small reminder that it is our club and we are the BLUE ARMY !!!

I don't like it at all. Not enough to blub about it but we play in Blue. We are the Super Blues. Not the Tractor Boys, not some mega corporation masquerading as a football club.

As we go up higher, the more we're going to have to be wary of nonsense though.

….a certain level of acceptance from fans that things are going to change to some degree.

It’s a reality of modern football.

But that doesn’t mean that we can’t moan a bit about it.

I think history shows that our fanbase aren’t likely to ever go over the top about anything, just a few tuts, moans and sighs.

First thing they have got wrong IMO.

Not going to criticise as they've been amazing but I think as a one off this was completely understandable. Under Evans we didn't ever maximise marketing opportunities. The Ed Sheeran connection and the fact he designed the kit is probably now all over Twitter.

If we're not going to play in blue then it needs to be a big deal and today was IMO.

Even away kits are meh unless there's a clash.

We play in blue ffs.

It's not something that keeps me awake at night though.

Well you lost me with that.

I'm sure I'll get loads of down arrows for this, but when I heard about the banner (couldn't see it from where I was) I thought it was a disgrace.

Fair enough if you don't agree with the shirts, but to go to the effort of making a banner about it?! Not for me. This group have turned this club around and are bringing us out of the dark days. Why on earth would you attack that?! I don't mean they can do anything they want with our club and I'll just clap along, but FFS it's not a Cardiff. It's one game.

All your other banners have been superb, and I've taken part in every one. That banner was ridiculous and a disgrace. You don't speak for me with sh!t like that.

Our sponsor will be Amazon, we’ll be playing in the “Portman Road Stadium brought to you by BigOil Corp” and we’ll be wearing a kit in colours of whatever country owns us.

Sky turning the sound down at (perhaps) the loudest game of the season at PR, because the NSL were singing rude words about them, was more of a 'disgrace' (?) than this.

CaughtInTheBrambles' mad banner at Brighton about Amex, again, that was 'disgraceful'.

Of course, neither of these things, nor the banner last night, are disgraceful.

Most of us were here before the Americans and Ashton (and Marcus Evans, even Sheepshanks), and most of us will be here after they've gone, watching this stupid bloody football team, and, most likely, disliking it more often than not. One of the constants, throughout, has been the colour of the shirts; that's why tradition is important; it endures.

We're one of the biggest clubs in the country; honestly, we're bigger than gimmicks like this.

To reiterate - 3 points, Uppa Towun.

Agreed. Fair play to Blue Action.

A very subtle reminder to those running the club that although we appreciate all the positives (some of which accentuated because the previous regime was so poor), we are not all accepting of every decision they make. Some fans obviously will be, but not all.

At least, the EFL ensure that it can only be a one-off at home.

Upvoted by accident, the banner was very subtle.. makes a statement.. I think it represents everyone, the club should acknowledge it, and put it to rest.

Talking of section 6, seems like the old bill couldn’t wait to get in there at half time. Three people turfed put it looked like. Anyone know what happened? Hope the relations between the club and section 6 don’t break down as it’s been superb of late.

Same thing as usual - certain stewards causing problems. They couldn’t grab anyone on the concourse at half time to sling out this week though so we ended up with the police throwing their weight about in the stands as well.

There’s now club stewards, 2 separate security firms (one of which are basically nightclub bouncers) and half a dozen cops about the section.

Ridiculous.

Right then, who bought one? (I haven’t)

If you have, I’m sorry but you can’t complain. This shirt/kit has been a massive success sales wise.

Attempting to wear it away from Portman Road could be difficult as the home team would get priority. Therefore, to wear something with such big sales, wearing at Portman Road is likely to be the best opportunity for the club.

Black shorts are common so we wouldn’t create many opportunities at away games.

I don’t agree however that it was worn whilst on Sky. I can understand why they did it though as it’s the same day of the sponsorship extension.

In how many away games would an all black kit clash with the home team's kit?

It's a gentle reminder that the club still has history and traditions beyond the current owners. Yes, we have a lot to be thankful for them for, but that doesn't mean they in turn shouldn't respect what the club means to the fan base.

Agreed, at this stage it's not a Cardiff scenario where the bluebirds went red, but there's no harm in a nod that some fans are against the idea of wearing anything but blue shirts at home.

As others said, wear it away for sure - we've got a game at Exeter coming up, plus Bracknell on free-to-air. At home? Unless the away side have had an issue with the laundry then no. Blue all the way.

A nod/gentle reminder are an email to the club if you don't like it. Going to the effort of making a banner is way OTT IMO.

The club have changed tradition. For what? Money? To keep Ed happy? Maybe that is good enough. Personally I hate all the changes of traditional kit when not needed. Every club now does it. All for money. We're in pursuit of the play anytime, anywhere, in any kit so long as it is lucrative. Bah humbug.

They haven't "changed tradition". It's one game FFS. If they were changing the clubs colours I'd be with you, but one game, FFS, get a grip.
