I mean, you sum it up with your last line. On a positive night they bring a negative banner. If you don't like it email the club. Going to the effort of producing a banner? Some people have too much time on their hands. Gamechanger are moving this club forwards. A shirt almost everyone loves... oh no, don't actually wear it, you've destroyed our tradition!!
What did the banner say?
I'm gonna put my neck on the line here and assume it wasn't negative.
We’re not kicking up a fuss about it, and I don’t think the banner was over the top, but we wanted to let those in charge know that these things do matter to some of us, even if it is just one game.
As I posted before, to me it’s the precedent that it sets. If it’s accepted by the entire fanbase that we don’t mind changing colours, what comes next? It might well be nothing, but I think it’s important to let it be known the first time it happens that not everyone is happy about it.
Love what BA is doing. Personally, all teams should were their proper colours if there is no clash but I see, in this case, the marketing opportunity may have been to good to miss. The banner was clear without causing disruption, no groups outside the ground jeering at Directors etc. Point made and well done. The difference you guys have made is immense and all fans should appreciate it.

Also, from the perspective of a neutral fan it is better that teams are instantly recognisable by the colour of their shirts. The worst example I have seen of this is when England Women played the Netherlands recently, England in orange and the Netherlands in white!

Wasn't keen on the 3rd kit at all, but then I heard my nephew and his mates being all excited about getting it. These are young kids who were claiming to like arsenal or man City, but now are starting to turn their attention to town - so if an Ed Sheerhan black shirt on a Friday night sky game helps turn a few more I'm all for it. That being said I thought Blue Action made their point in a classy way fair play to them.
Nothing wrong with that at all. I just think all the stars were aligned last night for a one off event. I would be interested to see the figures for shirts sold after the game. I'm sure we can agree, if we take tradition out of it, it was marketing genius.
Again, not criticising. You're all an asset to the club and if this became a regular once a season thing I would be very much in your camp.
I can just imagine Dolly…. on 10:05 - Oct 22 by Bloots
….storming over to them, his face bright red, incandescent with rage, screaming “DISGRACE! DISGRACE! DISGRACE!”, arms flailing like windmills, his mouth frothing with anger…..
“It’s just a banner mate, calm down”
Lol. I love how you've twisted the narrative that the person who thinks a banner is OTT is more excited than the people who actually created one.

Your post said: "That banner was ridiculous and a disgrace. You don't speak for me with sh!t like that."
I'd say you are far more excited about it.
Well you'd be a twit for thinking that creating a physical banner is more of a thing than a post on TWTD. But we know you're a twit. I think that's well established.

Yeah because creating a banner is a rather subtle thing to do.
TWTD has lost it's mind. And apparently I'm the hysterical one for suggesting people calm down, it's one game.
As I said in my OP, I wasn't bothered by us playing in black. But it's nice to have a fan lead group keeping a watchful eye on the breaking of club traditions.
They didn't boo. They didn't walk out on 78 or 81 minutes en masse. They weren't calling for Ashton to get out of our club.
They simply held up a smallish banner that said "Tradition matters".
I'm sure Ashton and Leary would have seen this and taken on board their feelings. It's a matter of checks and balances.

We know that you love a strawman. And here's one in full effect.
"They simply held up a smallish banner."
Look at the pictures. Smallish?!
This is the same logic that made you a u-turning Tory.

Not going to criticise as they've been amazing but I think as a one off this was completely understandable. Under Evans we didn't ever maximise marketing opportunities. The Ed Sheeran connection and the fact he designed the kit is probably now all over Twitter.
If we're not going to play in blue then it needs to be a big deal and today was IMO.

The contrast in marketing under Gamechanger and Evans is stark
I was always told that commercially, Ashton is very good and I think thus far, he has displayed that
Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
