JACKSON MOTM?! on 22:45 - Oct 21 with 1220 views | LegendofthePhoenix | we all know Jackson isn't a brilliant finisher. He has incredible pace and incredible stamina. Which means the opposition have to play deep for the full 90 minutes, and it helps the overall team immensely. For tonight's goal, he timed his run perfectly, but was running diagonally away form goal at top speed, got the ball, and had to try and shoot at 90 degrees to his run. He hit the post. If he could finish as well as Michael Owen, then he wouldn't be at ITFC, he'd be at Liverpool. Kieran can see what he brings, which is a helluva lot, and I think without him tonight, we don't win. Justified MoM.

Derby have a very good attack and their strikers didn’t get a sniff. To be that quiet was a testament to just how good the pair of them were. Donacien also very good.

If his attributes are incredible pace and incredible stamina, couldn't we just bring in someone from Athletics and pay them 3k a week?

It was a superb team performance tonight. Very hard to pick one player as MoM, and Derby had perhaps one shot on goal? Walton didn't have to do much, but what he did was superb. Absolutely so proud of the boys tonight, that match was played at an incredible intensity, what an advert for League 1. Great support as well, fantastic night for everyone in Blue. Or Black.

JACKSON MOTM?! on 23:04 - Oct 21 with 1120 views | madmouse1959 | You can.t question Jackson's work rate for sure. His pace is an asset. A more consistent end product from Jackson has to be worked on. . If only there was just a bit more composure. Better balls into the box to find a team mate. Adding a bit of finesse would elevate him to be a very dangerous striker. He has to eliminate the rush of blood and blast of the ball mentality. This has to be worked out on the training field.

I'd say Jackson's crossing is fine, you can see him looking up when he can, if there is a problem it's with the movement of those running in. More a case of JJ and Ladapo's movement rather than the cross, whether it be Jackson, Burns, Davis etc.

yup, and jacko made a couple of really well time runs in the 1st half but the ball to him was overhit, think Harness was the culprit at least on one occasion. But he was trying, as they all were. I really don't care who scores, we have the best GD in Lg1, we are 1 point off top, on track for 100 points. Why do we have to slag off players who have just put their heart and soul into getting us another 3 points?

That does show it's a game of opinions, because while I'm not sure if KJ was my MoM, Harness definitely wasn't. He was very frustrating today. One of the only players I've ever seen who seems to play better the faster the game is moving. If he has too much time to think, he'll give it away, but on a quick break he's great

I know you love him but no way was he MOTM. The open goal and penalty miss didn’t define his performance, but they shouldn’t be dismissed. He was good tonight but no way was he better than Fridge, Woolf or Davis. Burns and Morsy were also excellent.

I thought Davis was very poor defensively. He gave the ball away in dangerous positions on several occasions, and was all at sea quite a few times when attacked. He also didn't really offer anything in attack. It was a game like today which highlighted what a big loss Gregg Leigh is.

JACKSON MOTM?! on 22:18 - Oct 21 by Jeff_winger | Thought Jackson had a brilliant game won the match with his run to nip in behind defence. My man of match was morsy though. I have no idea how Jackson is currently second lowest score on TWTD ratings ? |
He generally always does far worse on the ratings than his performances merit. I thought Davis was pretty awful defensively tonight, but his rating is higher than Jackson's.

I must have been thinking of a different moment. According to whoscored he made the most inceptions and the most combined interceptions and tackles for us. Winning it back up top as consistently as he did turn possession in our favour, and that led to a goal. For what it is worth, whoscored's MOTM, which is just based on statistical contribution made it Burns, Edmundson, and then Harness. [Post edited 22 Oct 2022 3:24]

JACKSON MOTM?! on 06:47 - Oct 22 with 929 views | BigCommon | Jackson was immense.. Proves how good his game was, if the pundits and a lot of fans gave him MOM, even after the penalty miss.. He had their back line on toast and made them really edgy. Forcing them to lump it under pressure. And , together with Harness and JJ, pressed them really quickly and constantly. There were a number of times when he could have been slid in with the right pass, but wasn't. But he just stuck to his game and kept going.. The haters will say, "he missed an open goal" The appreciators will say, he "He provided an assist after hitting the post from a an angle on the run, after chasing the ball down for the umpteenth time". I don't get why some people get on his back all the time. He's seen off Norwood, Bonne and Piggot since McKenna came here. I'll take McKenna's opinion over most. And get behind Jackson. Who , continually contributes, playing wherever the manager asks him to play, without moaning or creating dramas.. Every squad needs a Jackson.. Get behind him. I can assure you, the manager, skipper and his team mates are. He was a huge part of a really good 3 pts last night.

I thought Harness was outstanding and comfortably the best of the front 4. Both CBs had very solid games as well

Stop over compensating. Who dislikes him? Who’s on his back? People just disagreed that he was MOTM. I, like I’m sure most completely see what McKenna sees in him. He’s good and offers lots. When he’s named on the team sheet I know exactly what we’re going to get from him and he contributed effectively last night. If any player misses an open goal and penalty it will get discussed. We can’t just brush it under the carpet because it’s Jackson.

Stop not supporting Jackson. The OP is a dig at Jackson mate.. Otherwise they would have stated who they thought was MOM instead of KJ.. But they didn't. They just mentioned a couple of negatives aimed at KJ. I'm just showing him some love. Pointing out a few positives about him and his contribution to our squad. You call it overcompensating. I call it supporting.
