I think we are about a month away from seeing Camara starting.

I would like to see KVY giving a run out as you've put.

Is that because your basing it on Burns going to the WC?

I take it you’re assuming that Burns is off to the World Cup?

I don’t think any line up will emerge. KM will continue to chop and change depending on the opposition

... as a back-up to Neco Williams, as Norrington Davies is injured as the obvious understudy to Williams.

Connor Roberts is the nailed on RWB, with Sorba Thomas the understudy.

The other factor being whether they want to give some youngsters the experience of a major tournament with the future in mind... say Rubin Colwill from Cardiff or Oli Cooper from Swansea.

Not sure Burns is going to get much game time if he doess travel.

Edwards and KVY give us some depth if he does fly out.

Zero chance. Burns and Evans are two of our best players and Fridge makes the defence tick. And it’s not like a line up will “emerge” anyway as McK always changes it.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I would say Burns has not been all that this season for whatever reason, had his moments but a shadow of last season. KVY if he plays in the league like last night could well take his place.

With Burgess we looked very good at the back before his injury, we have shipped 14 goals in 9matches since then , we have looked vulnerable in the air, he also looked good last night.

I could see it happening.

The only Muff in Town.

Don't want to get too fixated on formations, but I can see this kind of shape working at times, with currently fit, form players...

-----------Walton
------Woolfy---Edmundson
Donacien--Humphreys----Davis
--------Morsy----Camara
----Burns----------Edwards
-----------Ladapo

I'd love to see Humphreys in that deep playmaker role, with Burns and Edwards pulling defenders out wide as they link up with JD and Davis, allowing Morsy and/or Camara to exploit the gaps between and link up with Freddie. Camara I think in particular, would shine in that space.

Plenty of alternates for most of those 'positions'...

Woolfy > Keogh?
Edmundson > Burgess
Donacien > KVY
Humphreys > Evans
Davis > Leigh
Morsy > Ball
Burns > Harness
Edwards > Chaplin
Ladapo > Jackson > Ahadme

But we must remember we're not about fixed formations, and this would just be a pattern of play for a quarter hour or so at a time maybe.

Maybe.

I think McKenna would rather have Kayden Jackson or Edwards on the right but KVY would do a good job as a more conventional RWB. And I’m not sure that’s what’s needed with Donacien already being the spare man getting forward and playing a hybrid role.

Last night it made sense ahead of Burgess on the left who is much less of a forward runner than Donacien. But then again the Bracknell right side were well below what we usually face and the movement of Edwards and Ladapo also created acres of space for KVY to exploit.

I don’t know where Pan Cam played exactly in Plymouth’s midfield but on very limited viewing he has too much energy to play a disciplined midfield role in the shape of morsey or ball. I could see him in a midfield 3 at the apex but that’s very different from what we’ve been doing. I could see him along side morsey in certain game situations where it’s important to break lines and get a player up along side a striker on the counter. It will all be interesting to see what he brings, he’s a very good player so it should play out well either way.

We don't really play a strict 4 either (definitely don't in possession anyway), certainly a 'hybrid' system of sorts. If you look at our average position maps for games it most closely resembles an asymmetrical 343 with the defence shunted to the right slightly and Burns and Davies level in wing back positions.

Can't see Evans losing his place to Camara for a while yet.

I would suggest Humphries and maybe Ball are ahead of him in the pecking order as well.

I disagree. It's noticeable this season that Doncien is playing as a traditional right back rather than the hybrid role of the latter half of last season.

“Edmundson makes the defence tick”
Not sure id agree with that tbh. Burgess us the better “defender” of any of the defenders in the squad, whilst Woolfie is much the better “ on the ball” coming out of defence out of the central defenders. But we all see things differently. I could easily see a Woolfie : Burgess pairing ( that was just starting to take shape when Burgess got injured).

There will always be debate because we have 2 good players for nearly every position. I like this team though.
On the obvious ones like KVY for Burns I think there is a fair argument here that KVY should be given a run.
Burgess for Fridge is another controversial one but we have tended to look more solid with Burgess so can’t disagree there either although I rate Fridge as a player highly also.
Donacian actually makes everyone’s side in always and is there argument there perhaps that his firm has dropped off slightly?! I’d say yes.
For me who ever the personnel we have enough to win the majority of our games. I still think we miss that no9 (our new Marcus Stewart) if you like to come in and turn a good team into a great team…..

Think McKenna calling it a 3 and a half at the back is accurate, and depending on the game the shape shifts about a bit to resemble a 4231 or 343. Very fluid still anyway.
