We clearly tried to do this last transfer window but didn't get who we were after.
It will be interesting to see what happens in January. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Wickham in the building. If we could sign a proven striker at this level, it will make a big difference to us. |  |

They just do, the clue is in them being described as a natural goalscorer. They find a way. Make better runs, better decisions, find better spaces, make more of the space they had. It’s why Marcus Stewart could create something out of nothing, whilst at the other end of the spectrum Connor Sammon scored once in a whole season with us. | |

Problem is Ely. There seems to be little intelligence in the front line.
Chances come and they just hit it. Celinas gift last season was knowing how and when to take an extra touch to give himself an opening to goal.
I think harness and chaplin have it in them.. but I feel they need a run of games to build confidence to do so. Being in and out of the side won't help with this.
Pick a front 3 and stick with it.

Not for people who can’t make it or find it, no. But you can always make space, and that’s the difference between good and excellent. I didn’t see today so can’t comment specifically, but it’s always the same either through well worked overloads or individual excellence. In fairness, L1 players who can make the space for themselves or others are few and far between.
It’s not a biggie, as Ladapo has his strengths and we are where we are (and doing quite nicely so far). Chuck a L1 version of Stewart, an in form Murphy or a Waghorn in this team though and they’d be in double figures already given the large number of opportunities we create. | |

We have a left back in Davis and an understudy in leigh with a much better version of Edwards. With humphreys etc coming in too. This squad is much better balanced in my opinion for celina to have been able to concentrate in his strong points without us having to worry about his weaknesses.
Watching harness and Chaplin try and hold the ball and try to make a go of attacking makes you miss someone like celina. He and Davis would have had a lot of fun imo.
But. Both Harness and Chaplin have their own qualities. I'm just not sure if both works as a partnership and I'm still of the opinion that they need a run of games to see the best of either of them.
It's a difficult situation we have. Both Harness and Chaplin seem to be more suited to being in a front 2 imo. [Post edited 12 Nov 2022 20:55]

All that’s happened here is a mid season switch. Clubs have had enough time to have a good look at our game and are finding the ways to stop us. Either we learn quickly and do a few things differently (that may include reshaping in Jan) or we continue as we are and expect there will be few teams that come for 1 point as much as Cheltenham. However 3 of our next 6 home game could follow a similar pattern. Work to do. | |
