So this blip. 10:41 - Nov 13 with 12199 views | FrimleyBlue | Some say it's not a blip as we re 2nd etc etc. But. Last 6 games. And we are 6th in form. https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:league-one/form/matches:6/type: Also note. Over 10 games. It's 3rd. Even 12 games is 3rd. People can talk about ppgs etc. At the moment. Our form won't be good enough for a promotion finishing position. Something has to change and quite soon imo before it all starts going south like 2019. The money spent on this side, 6th in form isn't good enough. Lots of shopping for Ashton etc in Jan needed. Big 6 months ahead.

So this blip. on 11:15 - Nov 15 by DecageBruce | A lot of this appears to be about individual mindsets. The OP seems to have a default negative mindset that chooses to concentrate on, and provide, negative aspects and stats in the face of far more long term positive stats and trends. If after the next 10 games the results of the last 2-3 games have continue to transpose and the in games stats and performances have dropped then, for me, there is obvious cause for concern and these types of conversations but, and I will remain polite, to jump to such a negative outlook after some recent bad results (not necessarily performances) really is a view based on an underlying negative approach to life and expectations |
Shut the forum down for 2 months then if no one can comment on club form until 10 games time.

I, and I'm sure others, will happily discuss their concerns should a trend of bad results continue and us slide down the table. Personally I think taking a small subsection of data/trends compared to KM's overall results since he's been here is a bit quickfire. Things do need to be addressed (taking chances/defensive mistakes) but I would rather these be addressed while we are still performing well and hope for an deemed upturn in fortune than panic and see this as the beginning of a downward trajectory. Personal preference though based on outlook, feelings and faith in the process/team

So this blip. on 08:52 - Nov 15 by jayessess | Even in his best season, 2014-15, we dropped points from winning positions fairly regularly. Here's October 2014: 2-2 Nottingham Forest, took the lead twice, conceded an equaliser 90+4. 1-1 Blackburn, took the lead, conceded an equaliser 90+3 against ten men. 1-3 Cardiff, took the lead, conceded 3 times. 2-2 Huddersfield, took a 2-0 lead. That's 9 points dropped in one month, our tally for the season is 11 (Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth have both dropped 9) |
Good research, I stand corrected on Mick. I concur with Frimer’s though, I do have cause concern with the way we’re conceding and letting games slip. It is and will be the difference come end of season.

So this blip. on 07:38 - Nov 15 by ibbleobble | I said ten winning positions or comfortable positions: Barnsley, Lincoln, Sheff Wed, Cheltenham, Plymouth and Charlton all points dropped when in complete control of games bar maybe Plymouth. |
That is 6 or possibly 7. You can't argue that doing it more than once in the same match is throwing the points away again. You can only gain the points from the match once. The major point that you are missing is that there are only 2 points from 54 so far all season that we didn't have comfortably in our grasp. If we are going to comfortably do enough to win all except for one match this season, we can afford to let that lead slip sometimes. Of course, it would be better if we didn't do. The reason why we haven't let the lead slip as often in previous seasons is also down to a large degree to never having held the lead to give away in many more matches.

So this blip. on 21:43 - Nov 15 with 1485 views | SpruceMoose | If you're not enjoying your football now, especially after what we've endure over the last couple of decades, then I hate to break it to you, but you probably never will. I know people like to compete for who can have the freshest take, but it's a shame if some folk are spoiling their own experience by having to become more and more negative just to have their opinion stand out from the crowd. I suppose it's understandable in some ways - we've spent the last couple of decades living footballing equivalent of shopping for jewellery at Argos, and some haven't quite caught up to the idea that we are now can do better. I'm not saying that the side doesn't have a few issues to sort, but for the first time in a long time I feel we have a leadership team who are well equipped to identify those problem areas and act on them. All this panic and stress isn't warranted, yet. [Post edited 15 Nov 2022 21:50]

I thought your first post above was very insightful ... perhaps we should all learn to limit the amount we post. Welcome back, anyway.

I’m not arguing that 10 wining or comfortable positions equates to a direct numeric value of points. I simply stated ‘points’. Whether or not we’ve thrown away more than one comfortable position in a game is different. The fact remains that it’s happened 10 times, which to the OPs point, is cause for for debate.

You just agreed with Sprucemoose when he said, “…the side has a few issues”, which we’re debating and yet you opt for the superiority complex and ridicule others about the same point you’re upholding. Conclusion? Not the NHS’ brightest star.
