How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? 01:00 - Nov 24 with 4024 views | chicoazul | We definitely need a solid workhorse to replace Ball. Not to go ahead of Humph but just to add competition and cover for Morsys inevitable suspension(s). Looks like we will need at least one more inside forward if Harness TJJ and Sone are still out and if Ahadme is not at the level needed or still a bit walking wounded we need another 9 too as cover/competition. Could be a big January window for us.

How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 07:36 - Nov 24 with 3202 views | LegendofthePhoenix | Sone is coming back hopefully by xmas, but let's be honest, he is in the twilight of his career. We need to see how Ahadme does over the next few matches before deciding if we need another no.9. But I think we need one holding midfielder as a replacement for Ball/Morsy, another no 10. Camara should be properly match fit soon, he had a poor game v Pompey but hopefully that was rustiness. So a minimum of two, maybe 3. Midfield would be options from Morsy, Humph, Camara, new signing. No 10s would be from Chaplin, Edwards, new signing, Sone, Jackson. No. 9s Ladapo, Ahadme possibly one more who could also operate as a 10. The U23s then just back-up in case of further crises.

If we have to send someone out on loan or drop them from the 22-man squad altogether who goes? I agree we will be looking at 3+ new players. If I was Jackson I'd be worried

We have 2 over 21 slots - 3 if they decided to deregister Ball for the remainder of the season. If we were to go after further PL2 players many of those are in the U21 category (as TJJ was) and wouldn't count. We could bring in 3/4 without having to get rid of anyone.

You would think so, as Midfield and 10s we are well covered when all are back, only perm i would think is a 9.

I think Plymouth have shown how effective the loan market can be. Although we'd rather build our own team, I think we just need to prioritise getting out of this league! Loans also mean that the long term injuries have a pathway back rather than being replaced as such.

I think we’re very vulnerable if JD is out for any length of time. KVY isn’t good enough defensively to cover that hybrid role and our centre backs aren’t mobile enough.
How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 09:28 - Nov 24 with 2767 views | iamipswich | Think it makes perfect sense to de-register Ball as he will be out for the season and it'll free up a valuable space.

How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 10:05 - Nov 24 with 2663 views | Guthrum | Depends upon how bad Harness' injury actually is. Also the timeline for Aluko and Evans' return. Ahadme looked pretty lively in his brief cameo at Exeter. Don't think we can write down his ability from what little we've seen at Town (he scored 5 in 8 for Burton before we signed him). I think it likely we'll hire at least a couple more players. Probably a young, fast striker/inside forward to replace John-Jules if he's going to be out a long time. Perhaps in the form of another Prem Youth loan. Maybe a midfielder to replace Ball. A lot will depend upon whether we can find upgrades on the present squad. We're primarily looking to improve quality rather than plug gaps.

How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 10:39 - Nov 24 with 2562 views | wrightsrightglove | With the rules being different regarding financial fair play in the championship, and seemingly it being more limiting towards how much money our owners can pump in, this could be (hopefully) our last league one transfer window. So I’m wondering if we’ll be chucking some serious money around and buying up a few players, possibly under 21s, so that when we reach the championship we’ve got additional players in the building already who can either step up and play in the championship, or who can be sold to allow us more manoeuvrability in the transfer market?

If you watch the early interviews with the likes of Berkey Bakay in particular, there is definitely the hint that if we reach the Championship, then the spending we've seen on players so far might well be exceeded. I assume if TJJ is ruled out for a long time I assume we will send him back to Arsenal and get another Prem loan in.

Tho the income from TV/Prem "solidarity" money and the like goes up by a factor of about ten, which allows a lot more leeway.

Spot on. I reckon we will want a proper out and out striker though with maybe a number 10/inside forward as a young loanee.
How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 12:40 - Nov 24 with 2238 views | ringwoodblue | Before the injuries started mounting up, I would have said we needed just a striker and right-sided player as cover for Donacien/Burns) in Jan but now we need another defensive midfielder to replace Ball if he can be deregistered and possibly another CB as Keogh is not really the answer and so he can concentrate on his coaching development. I’d also be tempted to send Jacko out on loan and bring in a U21 loan from the premier league of the calibre of Dane Scarlett.

How many are we looking at coming in in Jan now then? on 12:48 - Nov 24 with 2199 views | C_Jam_Blue | There seems to be far less def info around now than under the previous regime, I quite miss it. Even though he has not featured much I think we could miss Ball's versatility, able to fill in a number of positions in defence and midfield. The injuries to Leigh/Davis have underlined the value of players capable of filling in a number of roles. May need to be a consideration in January recruitment.

It seems when Keogh is on the pitch we concede goals more often that not lol.

I would prefer purchases to ensure they are really in it to win the league rather than get experience. Assuming no loan returns, El Miz continues playing weekly rather than playing cover role for us
