Doctors 14:49 - Nov 24 with 6631 views | MalcolmMeatballHead | I really need a new prescription of my thyroid tablets for an underactive thyroid and have been without them for 7 days (I'm starting to feel wierd). My problem is that I have really bad anxiety, so much so that I'm scared to make a phone call so I haven't phoned to reorder them. Really need these tablets but to order them I will have to speak to the receptionist who is alway angry because I haven't ordered them sooner (I think she suffers from PMT or depression) Am I within my rights to call them and demand to only speak to the doctor who will give me sympathy and guidance or will I have to go through the angry woman on the front desk? I do really need these tablets as I could go into a coma if I don't take them and it's been a week since I last took them. However, to do so I have to succumb to the venomous wrath of the angry woman. She is so angry it makes me shake. No word of a lie [Post edited 24 Nov 2022 14:52]

Thanks. That's something I've been wanting to do for a while and I hope I will do going forward but I'm talking here and now. Really need these tablets today but I'm scared of the angry woman who will inevitably answer the phone. Imagine being too scared to make a phone call for goodness sake?! I'm such a bloody mess. Appreciate the advice tho [Post edited 24 Nov 2022 14:59]

Is there someone who can call on your behalf? I'll do it if you don't have anyone else, DM the details if you're desperate.

As to blues, I appreciate the advice. Thanks It's horrible mate. The longer I go without my levothyroxine tablets the more my anxiety kicks in and the more my anxiety kicks in the less likely I am to call them to order my tablets. I know I've been called a troll which I am not but this is genuine. With every day that passes it gets harder to seek help. I'm so poorly it's unreal. Spend 90% of my life asleep so I can just get away from the torture Sorry to go on. If you think I'm a troll go away but I really really need help

Thank you and bless you for your kind offer. I don't have anybody apart from my 5 little kids and an angry ex wife but I am going to send an email which is addressed to him only so the angry woman doesn't pipe up. Really appreciate your kind offer, thank you so much

As an aside, you should contact your surgery and make them aware of this woman's telephone manner. It's really not good that you are too anxious to phone up because you worry that she will be angry. A surgery receptionist really needs to have a better attitude with people.

I think you need to explain all this to your dr. Being put off from getting pill top-ups is quite a normal thing, so they should understand. Definately get someone to call for you if its too much.

It’s likely they are short staffed and she’s getting constant abuse for not being able to give people appointments this millennium. I would recommend pharmacy 2 u who will deliver prescriptions to your door and you can order online. For now thought I would phone if you can. If she’s like that again it’s likely nothing personal and she’s probably just facing a relentless wall of negativity.

Doctors on 15:41 - Nov 24 with 2183 views | Meadowlark | Not of immediate help, but as others have said you should be able to do this all online without having any contact with a human. Does your surgery offer online access? If so get it set up and you can get repeat presecriptions ordered easily. I'm pretty sure you can also do this via the NHS App but you need some info from your surgery to get it working, which you shuld be able to do via email.

No reason for that whatsoever. Would you care to share why you downvoted me post and reported me? You may think I'm a troll, which I'm not but I'm a man in need and have nobody to turn to. If only you knew the real me. Perhaps then you'd realise I'm not on some wind up, just a bloke who needs help and friendship

Trolling about football or other general things is bad enough, but I draw the line at trolling about medical matters, which should always remain above board legit - otherwise it's like Matthilda shouting "fire" or the little boy shouting "wolf". The #NHS are under enough stress, duress & real criticism without being the target of WUMs like yourself, can't believe some people on here have fallen for it - they only need to look at your previous posts.

Doctors on 16:19 - Nov 24 with 2015 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | You can call 111 for an emergency prescription (which you should as the thyroid is not to be trifled with), but they will also want to assess you as you have said that you are feeling funny. This will work as a one off, don't make a habit of it as it is time consuming for 111 to resolve this for you. However, as Ulla says, going forward, you can use Patient Access to cut out the receptionist.

I'm not saying anything else on this matter in case of being called a troll. Why the hell would I make these health conditions up? For anyone interested in putting a mate up for a few weeks as he got evicted and is awaiting a new home. He saw me in tears and took it upon himself to call my GP on my behalf. I can pick 2 weeks worth of levothyroxine up tomorrow morning but have to also have a blood test in about a week To those who offered support I thank you. To those who have been nasty I just hope your dad/brother/son never goes through the hell I'm going through. I'm even getting to the point where I'm scared to open up on here in case I'm ridiculed and accused of being on a wind up. What a bullying bunch some of you are! As I've said, this really was a genuine post from a bloke in need

If you could go into a coma without medication, why are you asking for advice on a football forum? Not belittling your condition, but surely if it were that serious, there are plenty of medical boards to get advice. Can't be that bad though, 7 days ago you were asking advice for finding mature woman to scratch an itch.

We are always being told men should speak out for help when in need. I done so on the only platform i can and have been absolutely demonised. As I said many times in this thread, it was a genuine question from a bloke who is absolutely broken. Have I trolled before? Maybe. Hand on heart though this was genuine. If you don't believe me then screw you I'm going for a walk down the river Stour (in the rain).
