Does anybody have aquaintances like this? 00:05 - Nov 30 with 8377 viewsMalcolmMeatballHead

Basically I offered a man I know a room for a week or so back in the summer when he got evicted and he's been here for a few months living rent free and taking the absolute pxss. It's making me so down but my biggest gripe is I just can't get a say on anything. He's so dominant in his manner of conversation that he just takes over with his louder voice. I have so much to say he won't let me bloody talk.

Typical example earlier, Pleasurewood Hills came up in conversation. I was going to tell him an anecdote about a mildly amusing story about when I went there as a kid and I started 'i went to Pleasurewood Hills when I was about 10...' and before I could continue he stopped me in my tracks, hijacked the conversation then proceeded to talk for ten minutes about the time HE went to Pleasurewood Hills and what HE done. It's sending me crazy and I just want peace, or at the very least someone to give me the courtesy of listening to what I have to say.

Have I made sense? Do any of you guys know people who do this or is it just me? They are the worst people. It's so rude and frustrating. Oh and one more thing. He has a mate who is exactly the same and is lacking just as much in conversation etiquette. When he comes round and the 2 of them are talking it's like listening to 2 dogs bark at each other

When I was about 10 I went to Pleasurewood Hills with my uncle and his family and got sick in a bush after he sent me on the rollercoaster about 15 minutes after having a big lunch.

Sorry, what were you saying?

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

I don't think he's a troll, and given his apparent current plight I would say it's better to assume he's legit.

Agree, if unsure then far better to give him the benefit of doubt. If it's a genuine story, and could easily be then he needs support.

Can you not suggest the council are intending to do some works in the new year, painting, decorating, maintenance or similar so he will need to find other arrangements as he's not supposed to be there?

Do you have any family members who perhaps could develop a need to saty somewhere for a time?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

He's the worst kind of troll.
The fact he gives a 0.1% chance he's real stops people from going for it, but he's using mental health, cost of living etc when there really is a lot of people out there struggling.
SBMH made it absolutely obvious he was a comedy character and was funny.
This guy lives in council flat with 5 kids and a sponging mate and has a desire for grannies (admittedly I'm starting to chuckle now) along with many other things.
He's a creation!

There's Town supporting twitter profile with a number of similarities to this poster, so I'm inclined to give this person the benefit of the doubt.

I know a woman like that, possibly worse as when she takes over a conversation more often than not she takes it in a totally different direction. They seem to be able to talk and talk without pausing for breath.

Sorry for the late reply, tbh I've been scared to open this thread up til today as I didn't wanna see the negativity and accusations.

Long story but the only family I really have is my wife (who I'm split with) and my 5 littleuns so not really. It is nice that things are still amicable and she will happily put me up on the couch in the family home because she knows I need to be around the kids. When I'm there I'm sober, sensible, helpful and a good man. It's just when I get back to my flat I start drinking, getting down, hiding out of the house due to it being invaded by undesirables. Believe it or not I'm currently in the bath hiding as I have a houseful. All I want is peace and quiet FFS. You will often see me post at something like 4am. That's because I get no peace during the day anymore and the only time I can relax in silence is to have quiet time. I get this by staying up all night listening to different radio stations around the world.

Sorry to rant and I'm very much obliged to those who have given me the benefit of the doubt and those who have offered kind words.

To the doubters then please just let me be FFS. This place is so good and has some great folks but there are also some proper nasty people hear (who ironically are the ones most likely to emphasise how tolerant and compassionate they are).

Have a good evening all

Seriously if only you fcking knew.

At least one poster doesn't doubt me. I've been messaging a long time, highly regarded and well respected poster on here today who doesn't doubt me and has seen evidence to prove it

Not even looking for sympathy man. Just want a place to vent and not be abused. Not much to ask

Edit: when did I ever say my kids live with me?

1 I'm not divorced. Show me where I said I was?

2 my rifle isn't 'illegaly owned'. It's a 177 pellet gun which doesn't require a license

Seriously, fk off

I've no doubt that you're genuine. It's just that I've never met another forty year old who calls their mobile a 'portable phone'.

Or a lottery winner who doesn't own a coat because he can't afford one - yet still goes sea fishing on a boat, at night, in November. Must have been chilly.

National Lottery by MalcolmMeatballHead 20 Oct 2022 1:30
About 9 years ago I won 2 million on the lottery, a few weeks later I done a £2 accumulator and won 1 million.

On top of that my wife won 500k on a gameshow last year and on the same day I won 300k at Ascot from a 50p bet

I know some will think I'm lying but it's honestly the truth
