Oooh we're still 2nd and a point closer to top! 14:28 - Dec 3 with 10518 viewscbower

Gutted we didn't win last night but the bed wetting about dropping out of top two was unnecessary.

I think it's Incorrect to call it entitlement.

There are however beliefs that with the resources available we shouldn't have made life in league 1 as difficult as we have.

Also a game like yesterday followed only a couple weeks back that painful draw at Charlton which itself had followed further games of letting leads go.

It's just frustration.

End of day we will all celebrate together if we win promotion. Doesn't matter if you've been calm and patient through the season or if you've blown a fuse every week. We will all be celebrating.

How would you describe the outrage expressed by many on here that we didn’t win last night?

Agree - but their goal (and the chance just before it) was from pumping the ball into the box.

Their goal was from a shot (albeit heavily deflected) from outside the box. Hardly pumping it into the box! We could do with a few more of our players taking a shot from range at times.

We take way more shots than any other team in the league.

In fact, we take so many shots, that the difference between us and 2nd place is as big as the difference between them and 14th!

Shooting more probably isn't it.

Frustration.

It also will about how we drew not that we drew.

For me. If Fleetwood scored in the 30th minute and the 2nd half was a battle but ended 1 1 then it would have been annoying but not as frustrating as drawing 1 -1 with a really terrible 2nd half and a last minute goal.

There is a real sense of entitlement among various posters which is why Town supporters are getting a reputation for arrogance. There are two teams in a football match, and last night Fleetwood more than matched us in the second half. They deserve credit for that, yet some people don’t recognise it.

Where’s the evidence of this supposed arrogance?

I think a lot of fans have acclimatised to L1 very quickly - not surprising after years of having the useless Marcus Evans as owner.

League one is awful, full of awful teams and full of dreadful stadia. I’m going to keep on being arrogant and think that as we have a budget and fan base that deserves championship football.

If the stats show that, then so be it but I still have the sense we are trying to walk the ball into the net and opportunities to shoot from 20-25 yards are turned down. I mean, wtf was that free kick on Friday when Morsy passed it into the box insted of someone taking a shot on goal?

Ultimately, over the first 50 games, McKenna has the best record of any Ipswich manager, ever.

This fanbase will never be satisfied.

It's league 1. With a man City budget for our level. Let's not go overboard with the whole 50 games stuff.

I'll be satisfied once we are out of league 1 and back in the championship.

Then it'll be about getting out of the championship into the prem.

Ramsey was "League 1" no? We're not spending anywhere near Man City levels relatively. Ultimately he can only set the team up to compete at the level they are plying in. And he's doing that more successfully than anyone else has.

And it's his first management job.

I'm sick of all the experts on here pointing out where he's going wrong. If they had a tenth of the knowledge and experience of the game that he has, then I might be able to take them seriously.

No where near a Man City budget albeit at L1 level. Utter idiocy to think that.

Trouble is too many people are too easily satisfied and are just grateful that things are better than before. They're happy with what we've got and would rather watch us do well in the third division than face the greater challenges of the second.
Away results are masking the fact that home results overall are not good enough, particularly given the resource and backing advantage (as never before) we have over most opponents. 5 home wins in 10 this season following 3 in the last 7 last season. 3 goals in the last 4, 2 from corners the other from a bad back pass. Every justification for dissatisfaction.

Yes you said this yesterday and it still isn't very relevant. Teams are more likely to pack the box away from home and so there's less space around the edge of the area to crack a shot off, and it would be a bit pointless to keep letting fly from further out in the hope one of them gets deflected in.

Don't discuss football on a forum then. This isn't a place for experienced and knowledgeable football coaches. Its a bunch of ipswich supporters.

You say we aren't spending like man City in league 1. We spent 1.5 mill on a defender.. that Is absolutely crazy for this level.

It’s not crazy in the context of having 20k average gates with approximately 15k season tickets.

So McKenna and his unprecedentedly large cohort of coaches analists and other support staff need to come up with other ways to get wins at home, it's nearly half way through the season and he's only won 5 out of 10, 1 of the last 4.

And the fact our owners give that level of investment and support for the manager shows how different his position is compared to every previous manager.

In fairness they'll probably say that there's been an element of misfortune in almost all the home games we've not won. Bolton we should have taken our chances better, Barnsley the ref was a melt, Lincoln and Cheltenham we had enough chances to win them 4 or 5 times over, Fleetwood we were poor but only conceded from a fluke last minute equaliser.

Need to be better at getting 2-0 up and killing the game before the opposition has a chance to get back into it or sit and protect a point for sure but you're more likely to do that by working away and creating openings than just smacking it from range all the time.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
