Unpopular opinion perhaps 13:34 - Dec 10 with 2550 views | GlasgowBlue | But for the last couple of games Morsy has had to run the midfield single handedly. The game seem to be passing Humphreys by.

I'd take off Humphreys, drop Aluko into midfield and get Edwards on the pitch. Ladapo for Jackson obviously.

Unpopular opinion perhaps on 13:37 - Dec 10 with 2490 views | StokieBlue | He's not been as effective the last few matches but I guess that's to be expected given his age and experience. Another possibly unpopular opinion: I want to see us back playing 3 CB and WBs. Whilst we do still create chances I think we were better when Davis could bomb forward all the time. I also think Burns is probably better as a WB than a 10 or right AM. I don't think we were defensively any worse with 3 CB either and we miss the random runs one if the CBs used to make. Might romp home this half but in general that is my view. SB [Post edited 10 Dec 2022 13:41]

Completely agree with three at the back. Time to get back to basics - Team for Saturday by GlasgowBlue 14 Nov 2022 20:16We need to tighten up our defence for starters. So I'd revert to the three at the back system with wing backs bombing down the flanks. I'd also rest players who are out of form (Walton excepted).
So my team for Saturday would be...
............................Walton........................
.....Edmundson......Woolfenden........Burges......
KYV..................................................Davis
.....................Morsy.......Camara.................
Jackson..................Ladapo..............Edwards

Unpopular opinion perhaps on 14:55 - Dec 10 with 2176 views | Mullet | Thought Humphreys played some intelligent balls at times, but Posh had decent CMs that showed how experience is important. If Evans was fit or Ball Humphreys wouldn't be expected to play 90mins at a time the payoff might be the long term effect of us picking up points and him picking up experience.

You can't ask for a much better run of fixtures at this level for a youngster to gain experience with. Some really tough battles, different types of systems, players, mentalities. He's working with different qualities himself.. Morsy, Aluko now, etc what this does mean is going forwards when Evans is back, KM knows where he can trust Humphreys to do a job when required.

Unpopular opinion perhaps on 15:09 - Dec 10 with 2038 views | southnorfolkblue | I don’t disagree with the sentiment but in his defence he’s had to start a lot more games than KN would have liked. He’s shown that he deserves his place in the squad but probably needs a bit of a rest

Unpopular opinion perhaps on 15:28 - Dec 10 with 1931 views | pointofblue | I'm in the minority who thought Morsy went missing against Fleetwood rather than Humphreys, but it was definitely the other way round today. Not sure what we can do about it though; I guess playing three at the back does potentially mean we could add a second number ten to try and flood the middle?

That post is month old and Chaplin was rested. The formation is the relevant part in reply to Stokie.

I still feel Morsy needs to do more and be more of a captain figure in those closing minutes. Today again, like last week, he got the ball but gifted it away to much, just needs to be the one in the middle of grabs hold of that ball and calmly shows the lads how to see the game out.

Completely agree that he is playing far more first team football in a row than KM would like. His work on the ball and passing is excellent.

Unpopular opinion perhaps on 21:46 - Dec 10 with 1506 views | jayessess | I wouldn't say "passing him by", but I think we're slightly less formidable without Evans. That's understandable, Evans was posting ludicrous stats pre-injury. For instance, Evans was completing 76.4 passes per 90 minutes and Humphreys is just managing 48. Which sounds like a bad drop off. But Evans was top of the division by 10.3. The rest of the top 10 were centre backs in teams in that pass the ball around at the back plus Morsy. The only non-Ipswich midfielders above Humphreys - George Dobson, Marlon Pack, Barry Bannan. So Humphreys isn't the force of nature Evans is, but is doing just fine.

Why pick on Jackson ? not always brilliant but he never lacks effort and today he was very good . Ideally Humphreys would not be playing so many games on the bounce at his age but needs must . Think both him and Morsy are playing with knocks but still giving all they have got .
