The unfortunate thing is that, like last season, there are three teams going all-guns-blazing. There is also Barnsley closing in on the top three.
Nothing in football is guaranteed but let's just keep the faith, especially with a couple of astute signings on the horizon.

Poor runs in football is normal, defeats are normal. As said before, Hull lost 11 games when they won the league.
So far we've not shown much ability to do what Plymouth have just done and put a run of 4 wins on the bounce, if we had.. that negatively wouldn't be around much as you'd have more confidence in what's to come. At present, I can't bring myself to even think tomorrow we'll win, let alone feel confident we have enough about us to maintain a promotion battle at the top end.. Things can change though, town can absolutely turn it around and hopefully will do. |
Plymouth are doing the equivalent of picking up an extra point every 5 games compared to us - you make out like they are 20 points clear.
We can do anything they can do, and have done so over the season.

The reality of the situation and the stats don't matter to some posters, they just revel in the negativity or the chance to put out takes that can be pointed to in the future if proven correct or quietly forgotten if not.
My personal favourite over the last few days was some posters calling for us to be more direct and get more balls in the box. Hard to know what to say to that really given the clear improvement in our style and the chances it creates.

I've at no point said we can't beat Lincoln so not sure why you're making that up. I said I don't have full confidence in a win. There's a massive difference there Joe. It all depends what version of town turns up.
And regarding the run. It's not about a comparison on what Plymouth are doing points wise to town. I'm referring to the run of wins I feel we need to really push on and consolidate a top 2 place which isn't something we've shown we can do in recent months. If we manage it then it will give us a bit more breathing space to those behind us. | |

Even more when a critical decision has gone against us. Even when we win, like the game at Shrewsbury it has been a real x factor which has disrupted results.
Looking at that shocking offside missed yesterday for Burton you have to factor in how many teams will buck form tables either way when things like that happen up and down the league.
Wednesday should have lost at home to us, and at that point it would have totally changed their next few weeks and pressure on Moore etc. The fact we rarely fail to turn up the next game and still try and crush teams is something which needs more praise and perspective. |  |
