Few thoughts.
The guy in the clip doesn't represent our club.
He is just a fan using some outdated language and tbf, he seems to be aware his language may not be PC and is trying (unsuccessfully) to correct himself.
TT is not a professional outfit, rather some fans trying to put together some fan led output. The recording I think was live rather than recorded/edited.
TT have now edited the clip, posted a clear apology too.
I think a few Twtdrs are quite quick to put the boot in, appreciate there is some history/animosity but it does rather feel like a pile on to me.
I have got no particular like/dislike of TT but they do seem to attract a lot of criticism when it is perhaps not all valid/fair or proportionate.
Just my take, appreciate others will disagree. |  |

Shoving a microphone in people's faces straight after a game is hardly a great formula for insightful comments. People are emotionally charged, especially after a disappointing result. Their post match show is basically your first 15 minutes of sometimes irrational chat in a pub after the game, put out indefinitely for public consumption. It's unnecessary and pointless. I personally think that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
Having seen the video, yes wording could have been better! BUT, to troll and abuse a man that is not a well man is low. He made an error and the trolls on here and twitter jumped on the band wagon of OMG he is racist.
May be look up the definition before judging.

Why did he need to use skin colour at all? Why could he not have just said “the big tackle from our player/striker/defender”? If it had been Keogh or Evans or Burns who made the tackle, there’s not a chance he comes out with “the white guy” is there? |
Because he is old and that is what his generation were like, they knew no different.
Some in his age group will have evolved, some won’t have.

As someone who is part of the woke liberal elite, I tend to agree with you. There are far worse examples of racism than this, and what I fear is that, in an attempt to take down TT, a man who is probably little different to many of our parents or grandparents in struggling with this sort of thing is being thrown under a bus. At this rate, he won't dare show his face at the football, when he seems the sort of person who has probably never done any harm to anyone in his life.
In my view, the world would be a better place if no one had reacted to what TT put out. [Post edited 8 Jan 2023 16:17]

Sounds to me as though Colin (I believe his name is) is a tad excited and has said black, then suddenly thought he might get cancelled, panicked and said dark. Is this 15 second clip his finest hour, obviously not, but there's nothing in this and to suggest otherwise I feel is wrong. Just my view. |
Agree with your summary of why he said what he did.
I don't blame him, as you said not his finest moment but I blame the idiots for uploading it. They should have realised what we have and not uploaded it.

In fairness, there is only one person on this thread who called the bloke a racist. And he wasn’t really interested in what the fella said, but rather my response. Which was the same response as 99% of the rest of people contributing to the thread. [Post edited 8 Jan 2023 18:00]
