Thanks so much for that. The odd tear came unbidden to the eye of this ancient person. Certainly I don't think the contribution of Dale Roberts is sufficiently appreciated.

I've bookmarked it to watch when I've got more time.
As far as interesting features for the future... if it wasn't just players you were doing, I would imagine there would be an absolute wealth of interest doing a similar interview with Pat Godbold, with all she's seen and experienced in her time with the club.
That might be a slight swerve from the idea though.

I’m shocked there’s no request for Tabb from you Hoppy. Thanks Ross, really enjoyed that.

+1 for Pat. Was lucky to attend a lunch where she was guest speaker. Absolutely fascinating.
In 1997 I got invited to a SKY sports awards event and after the presentations went backstage.
George Burley was standing next to Beckham who had just won the Young Player of the Year award and there was a line of people queuing for him to sign their event programmes. I already had Burley's signature from 1978. I joined the queue.
When I got to the front I turned to George and asked him if he'd sign my programme. He said something like "That's nice. I wasn't expecting that."
I never got Beckham's signature.

That was an absolutely brilliant interview. Superb. Thank you. And I agree, Pat Godbold might be a very interesting listen. Just getting a different perspective on this wonderful club.

In a similar vein, bumped into England squad at Stansted, borrowed Bryan Robson's pen to get Sir Bob's autograph, didn't bother with anyone else but I did give Robson his pen back. COYB

I enjoyed the interview. I like GB. I know he made mistakes, but don’t we all. His team was attractive to watch (understatement) and he knew what he was doing. Controversially, I note he was in the running in 2012 when McCarthy got the job. I’d have preferred it if GB had been appointed, but under Evans catastrophic ownership, I doubt he’d have achieved more than Mick.
Still, I’d love to see him involved at the club in some way, but I guess the passage of time means that ship has sailed sadly.

I just think with the amount of memories and history she's had with the club, to get something with her whilst she still has all her memory intact and we've still got her - (hopefully for a long while still, obviously, but you never know), and for those stories to be lost or muddled would be a real shame. I've heard her speak before and she is so engaging and funny as well with some great little nuggets of insight.

I hadn't realised, until I heard her on Life's a Pitch on Saturday's tribute to Sir Bobby, that she was also secretary to Scott Duncan and Sir Alf.

Great shout. Really cannot wait until he retires and writes the book on the last 40 years of Ipswich. Nobody else will have his level of insight.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Finally found the time to watch it. Great stuff - really enjoyed it. It brought back loads of happy memories, of which there haven't been too many in recent years. For me Mick Mills would be great, as he was there as a young player even before Sir Bobby became manager, and went on to captain England in the world cup finals. A true ITFC legend.
