Broadhead 10:03 - Apr 11 with 4198 views | portmanking | Toes and fingers crossed he was left out yesterday as a precaution. There is something amiss in our two tens when he doesn't play. The link-up play between Hirst and Harness was non-existent at times. Harness really does play on a different wavelength to this team. Edwards is an enigma and showed flashes once again, but not enough to bang McKenna's door down to start against Charlton. If Broadhead's fit for our final 6 games, I think we go up top 2, it's that simple IMO.

Broadhead on 11:52 - Apr 11 by Swansea_Blue | It’s nuts to think we’ve got Edwards, Aluko and Jackson yet he goes with Harness. Even shifting things around to accommodate Jackson would be better. Harness was actually getting in the way at times yesterday, so worse than playing with 10 men. The poor bloke, it’s gone really wrong for him. |
There were three or four times first half when he had a simple 5 yard pass to make and managed to not find his man. He does so many of the basics so poorly. All of that would have been forgiven if he'd smashed home what was an excellent chance, but he didn't even work the keeper. Really poor from him all round. It's a shame as he gives his all and has some good attributes, but I think he lacks the technical and tactical aptitude to play McKennaball effectively.

This. NB missing yesterday wasn’t the issue, the issue was starting Harness over Edwards, which is on KM - numerous ppl called it before the game too that Edwards had to start. Harness is technically so far below the rest as others have said, moves consistently broke down when it came to him. I saw Alex Griffin’s video of the game from behind the goal and that finish was frankly appalling. It was so far wide it was ridiculous. Had to shift it to his left and open the goal up a bit more. Dreadful. Oh and one very minor gripe, when he rightly wasn’t given a penalty he picked the ball up and threw it away - inviting Cheltenham to take even more time for getting the ball back in play. To be fair, i think Jackson's best game for us was away at Wednesday where he played on the left. I dont think he's played there since?

Broadhead on 12:06 - Apr 11 by NthQldITFC | I thought Edwards was really good in his 45 minutes yesterday. His decision making has definitely improved and he left Cheltenham midfielders for dead on several occasions. He was probably our biggest threat in the second half. |
I was listening to the Cheltenham commentary and they were saying pretty much this for most of the second half. And that Morsy is by some distance the best player in League 1.
Broadhead on 17:47 - Apr 11 with 655 views | LegendofthePhoenix | It's no surprise something seems amiss when Broady is missing as he is clearly a Championship or even Premier League quality player. But don't dismiss that they were playing on a cabbage patch yesterday, and a very small one at that. There was no space to play our normal game, and its just one of the arrows in Cheltenham's armoury to compete at this level and why they have a good home record. Game over, we didn't lose, and we go again on a decent pitch in our next 6 games. Not sure what Fleetwood's pitch is like. [Post edited 11 Apr 2023 17:48]

Broadhead on 11:01 - Apr 11 by PhilTWTD | Keogh travelled as well yesterday. Usually seems to be two players travelling and not playing these days. |
Almost as though a couple of experienced senior characters around the squad could be beneficial. I imagine Keogh is a big influence even if he nowhere near the bench.

Was surprised to see fans wandering out of the front of the stand and along the side of the pitch. A real non-league feel about the ground.

The most essential thing Harness lacks is confidence and we've lost confidence in him too. His technique would be a lot better if he was playing with confidence. But right now with these 6 games to go we can't risk him. Is Aluko injured or unfit? He seems to me to be the best guy at quick link-up play that Broadhead is so good at. Not sure he can last 90' though.

It was so tinpot - of all the grounds in L1, its the worst one I have been to, in fact when we played at the Sandhurst stadium against Bracknell, the pitch was better and the facilities not much different. There was a single window serving the 1500 away fans, I had the worst cheeseburger in memory - £6.00. I haven't been to Accy or Fleetwood, but this really had the feel on non-league. Maybe I'm a stadium fascist, but I think there should be minimum stadium requirements to play in certain leagues, and if the club doesn't meet those requirements than they cannot be promoted to that league.
