BBC Radio Suffolk commentary highlights from yesterday on 18:44 - Apr 26 by Garv
I'm not massive on Brenner and I actually quite like that they've freshened up iFollow, but that commentary is a brilliant listen.
"Sucker punches!"

He's better than most national commentators and analysts, and different level to all the regional bods I've heard (a lot during Covid).
iFollow is dogwvank compared to RS, if you had the video off anyway. Imho. And I love Westy and current players' analysis, but it's biased and no good as commentary if you want any kind of excitement.

I'm firmly in the middle ground of not really rating Brenner or the Glenn. Basil Brush for next season please... or the bloke that has filled in for Glenn a couple of times. Although we did draw at least two of those games, so maybe not. What a minefield.
I will add that I never understood the nonsense about Brenner somehow being anti-Town, I just don't rate his commentary. Seems a nice bloke though.

His commentary is great on 21:34 - Apr 26 by Dyland
You are wrong. The end.
:)
Like David Croft in F1, I'd happily go for a pint with him but I just find him to not read what is actually going on a lot of the time. Gets there in the end though
Someone forgot to turn off RS on-line commentary off on Tuesday night. So I synced up their coms with the Ifollow pictures. So much better. than the in house coms,

That's happened getting on for ten times this season, and I've done the same.

Its the bias that kills me with Westlake. Often what he's saying bares no relation to what's happening on the pitch - just relentlessly pro Ipswich. Luke Varney was even worse in the Derby away game. I usually watch with the sound off I must admit.
Bring back RS - never understood the stick Brenner got from some.

I've not heard many but I thought Tommy Miller was very good on Tuesday. More of a co-commentator than a lot of the ex pros tend to be, chipping in with commentating on what was going on etc.

Wonder if he could be tempted away from the BBC to Town TV?
BBC local radio are making cuts and all that….
Would fooking love this, and was thinking the same recently. If he scaled back the BBC impartiality and tipped 10 or 15% in our favour I'm sure he'd win most over.
Superb commentator for me, and the voice of ITFC matchdays for most of my supporting life.

I also prefer Mick Mills and Alex Mathie to any of the co-commentators I've heard on I-follow. Mills because he is a club legend who brings back warm memories of my childhood, and Mathie for his chirpiness and banter which enlivens even the dullest of games.

You'd assume it's guidance given to them by the club but yes, Miller is much more balanced than most on there.
The Varney one was particularly good, we were properly under the pump from Derby for about 20mins and he said "Ipswich have them exactly where they want them". Brilliant.

And if Town TV, when properly up and running, has someone in the studio, I can't imagine they will have anyone as good as the excellent Graham Mac.

Like others, I wrote to the club at the time about losing Radio Suffolk but got a rather corporate response from someone I can't now recall.
I realise the need for the video commentary to be in-house, but I've never understood why they couldn't offer Radio Suffolk for the audio-only (as Robins TV do) because the in-house commentary is inadequate for those who can't see the game.
Does anyone know if this issue has ever been taken up at a higher level with the club?
If it hasn't, is this something that anyone on TWTD with better links to the hierarchy than me (Phil? Joe?) could pursue with, say, Mark Ashton?

They came back with a response about taking it on board, and that actually Glenn covers radio too and wasn't aware he needed to provide audio description. It hasn't improved though, I'm often watching the video feed wonder how on earth anyone knows what's going on from the audio alone.
I guess it's a small enough pool that most have just moved on from using it or not kicked up a fuss? Saturday 3pm, outside of Suffolk but not abroad, unable or unwilling to use a VPN to circumvent the rules.
Is there another route to get Radio Suffolk matchdays online that people have migrated to? I know someone on here used to stream it from their home/office/shed, as you could hear them coughing / typing in the background.

Who do i have to pay off, to get them to forget to turn RS off on Sat? After so many years of listening to him, id love to hear him commentate the hopefully promotion winning game
