I’ve just seen Vardy rumours to Ipswich on Twitter. Would you take him? on 09:47 - May 11 by blueislander
A vain hope I guess, but it would be nice if people could refrain from posting every ludicrous Twitter, and dodgy website rumour about who we may sign. The management have made it clear that they have a rigorous recruitment policy to which a lot of thought and effort has gone. This has proved to be successful, so can we forget what Football Manager tells us, and wait for the magic word “imminent” on TWTD.
As in 'Erling Haaland arrival at Tesco Copdock imminent' ?

Vardy, Maddison and co aren’t performing for Smith, didn't perform for Rodgers and got Ranieri the sack. I can’t imagine them turning up in the championship. They probably think they’re too good. I’d take Tielemans
They performed for Rogers for 3 years before this one and won Ranieri his title, leading to over expectation and an unfair sack

'I’d take Tielemans' is going to take some beating this summer.
I know people adore a big name but the attitude Tielemans has shown this season for Leicester in games this season I’ve seen would not make me want to employ somebody like that however talented - and a season or two ago he looked unplayable.
As for Vardy, big name great career. What’s not to like? Well, he’s old and his legs have gone and if he has any sense would take a pension pay day, just as Lee Chapman did. Good for him, but not for us.
You can employ the odd hasbeen, over the hill player if they have something to offer, especially if they play at the back and have the right attitude. Examples: Wark and Mowbray. Paul Goddard, who was past his best but only 31, were good examples.
Assuming Morsy and Luongo are with us next season, they will be 30 and 31. Aside from it being contrary to what MA has talked about, I’d be cautious about filling the team with too many old men, however exciting people might find a ‘marquee or statement signing’.
I also think the current team is good enough. There will be the odd player out, the odd one in but I hope that change is minimal. We saw how that benefitted Burley’s team in 2000 and I think the principle remains sound.
