Leicester financials 10:13 - May 15 with 6157 viewshype313

Latest pre-tax losses of £92.5 million earlier this year, the club’s players will have their salaries slashed by up to 50 per cent in the event of relegation.

Could be catastrophic if they get Relegated

Close to £100 million in losses obviously is a lot - but if they sell Maddison, Tielemans and Söyüncü then their loses will be almost wiped out.

Not sure whether this will mean that they will have a mass exodus. But their wage deduction will probably make a lot of players eager to leave.

But the revenue from the sales will likely be spread over 2 or 3 years so it won't immediately wipe them out.

I've not done much digging, but I've heard from a couple of places that one of the influencing factors has been the death of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and that Aiyawatt hasn't necessarily been able to pick up where his father left off in terms of running the club.

Up until the helicopter crash, I was under the opinion that Leicester were held as one of the examples of sustainable club ownership?

I think that Top has been trying to get them closer to sustainability with limited spending over the last year or so.

They are losing Tielemans on a free as well, so the big money sales will be Maddison & to a lesser degree Barnes.

Their training ground is unreal for a club of their size & it cost a fortune.

That makes sense - they spent an unbelievable amount of money on it, and it's not as if it'll reap immediate dividends in the same way that a new/upgraded stadium would.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Would the sale of Fofana have been included in this set of accounts? If so that really is some going to still be lising 90mill after an 80mill sale!

Apparently only four team in Premier league make a profit, 2 break even on 12:15 - May 15 by unstableblue

This is quote:

In the last two years, in the Premier League, only four teams were able to make a profit (Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich), with a further two breaking even (Aston Villa and Burnley), which means 80% of teams in the league made a loss.

I'm sure Spurs and Arsenal would become quite profitable once stadia is written down... closer for emirates

Spurs have the highest matchday revenue in Europe I believe

I'm surprised that isn't listed on the Budgies' achievements board, tbh

I've spoken to a few Spurs fans who aren't happy about the cost of going (realise you're probably talking about the boxes, but the normal tickets are a total rip too apparently). I could see a situation where they don't fill their ground soon - certainly if they flop again next season. Oh and from an backroom ex-employee of spurs, everything you suspect about Levy is true - he was described as a 'sociopath' by said employee's brother.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Nobody’s making money in the Championship, either. It’s an expensive race to get somewhere to lose more money.

Perhaps we'd have been better off staying in League 1!

On second thoughts...

A few months ago, my car broke down and the driver was a Spurs fan. Got talking about the new ground. He told me that he goes 6-10 times a season, which is fairly impressive as he lives a couple of hours away from North London. He then told me that he uses a "deal" that covers his seat, parking and a (one) soft drink. I can't recall the precise figure, but it was over £100. He then spent the rest of the journey trying, but failing, to convince me that it was a good deal!

I read a gossip snippet at the weekend that said that in the event of relegation they would 'consider' selling someone I had never heard of for £50m.

I think they will stay afloat.
