You have you feel for Darren Moore on 20:55 - May 15 by SuperKieranMcKenna
Their obsessive dislike of him is REALLY odd. Even when they were top of the table and racing away from us.
I know the football is a little industrial, but I think he’ll go on to have a decent career.
Thing is, we don't see them week in week out. People never used to understand why we were so anti Mick when he had us in a relatively decent position for the resources (be careful what you wish for and all that). So it's hard for us to judge.
Then again, Mick never finished with 96 points. Does seem strange to pillory a manager after that. If it weren't for our incredible and unprecedented run they'd be comfortably up and there'd be very little complaining. Fine margins.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That's over-egging it a bit imo. They've had a good season and he's done well; 96 points would normally guarantee promotion and more often than not win the league. They also picked up 5 wins in their last 6 games, so hardly a complete coming off of the wheels - their worst run wasn't as bad as ours. It was obviously a disappointing 1st leg of the PO semi final for them, but that's football and Peterborough can do that to any team on their day - they put 5 past Plymouth.
Interesting time for them now. We'll see what happens, but if they don't get through the POs then he's shown enough to get another go imo.
And it's not over of course. They've score 4 or more goals 4 times this season, plus lots more games with 3 goals. It's a huge ask of course, and it would be Peterborough's largest defeat if the 1st leg was overturned, but Wednesday have it in them to do it.
Fare comments... And 96pts is exceptional... But you can't gloss over that fact that they completely imploded to finish 3rd... End of the day, their fans need promotion. Whether thats done with 99pts to edge us or with 77pts that Posh got and via the play offs. It doesn't really matter.... The task is to get out of the Division. Ultimately, managers are judged on getting the job done. He may still do it..

Not really imploded, they had a sticky spell at the same time we went on a super run. Had they had that dodgy run of results a couple of months previously then finished the season as strongly as they performed in the middle section to get to 96 points and miss out, the narrative would be about them turning it around but just agonisingly missing out against a freak points total for 2nd place.
As has been said elsewhere anyway it has zero relevance to the subject of the OP.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

They fell off a cliff, with promotion in their hands... Even the fixtures were kind, with FGR straight after the Barnsley defeat..? But let's chat about racism, eh.?

Darren Moore seems like a perfectly decent manager - What S.Weds fans seem to not grasp is how ridiculously competitive L1 is for the handful of clubs at top. Plymouth went off script this season it seemed, and they did so with style.
It's a hard pill to swallow for them but turning on a gaffa like this reeks of entitlement.
I do feel for Moore...even when they were in the midst of the run of 23 he was still getting detractors. I hoped they would get up through the play offs but it looks pretty hopeless now.
You are right about the competitive nature of L1 this season....although our off script was a 21 point improvement on the previous season....you bumped up by 28 points....
Looking forward to next season....

Not done the maths, but if you took our sticky patch and put it at the end of the season, it would probably look similar.
Ultimately, over 46 games they finished with just two points less which is a ridiculously fine margin and without context 96 points is a great season.

Very odd last sentence.

Apologise, if you think it's odd... Way I see it, some moron has posted a nasty racist comment on Twitter, shock horror... My angle was to not give it much attention, and discuss how I feel about Darren Moore as a manager, from an outsider looking in... Can't imagine how Wednesdyites actually feel atm. Can only imagine, based on all the evidence.. Sorry if you feel I've gone too far off topic. But I understood the OP as, " You have to feel for Darren Moore". I took the subject to be Darren Moore.

I had a quick look earlier, and their sticky patch was less protracted than ours. They had a shorter spell of a couple of defeats and draws earlier in the season that could be seen to be just as important to them missing out. As you say, the timing must make it feel worst for them. Much like a draw after conceding late feels like a loss.
It’ll be interesting to see if they hold their nerve with Moore. It’s the sort of situation that could go tits up if they get rid of him and make a bad appointment. We could have panicked over Burley, for example.
Looking from the outside, it seems like a disproportionate amount of hatred towards Moore from some of their fans. Makes you wonder how much is racially motivated, even if unconscious.

They'll come out all guns blazing and will be a sight to watch if they get two early goals
Looking for to a cracker Thursday night - I'll be rushing home from the usual 5 a side up here to catch the second half .I'm assuming the Wednesday lot who play will actually honour their ticket purchase and attend the game unlike their initial reactions over the weekend
I can't see it at all.
Peterborough are far too good. They conceded 5 against Bolton at home somehow in February but conceded 7 goals in 9 away matches since then (including a 1-0 defeat to Wednesday). Ferguson won't play open enough for them to be beaten by 4 or 5.
No one should be getting racist comments made about them and of course I sympathise with Darren on this issue but looking at Owlstalk there are a lot of Wendies fans criticising him because of his poor management skills and his inability to motivate the players.
The way I look at it is, if Darren Moore was Ipswich manager and we’d just lost 4-0 in a playoff semi first-leg, a lot on here would be calling for him to go but not on any racist grounds.
Hell, some on here were calling for McKenna to be sacked not so long ago and don’t they look stupid now

I can't see it if I'm honest but I can see it being a pretty good first 45 mins and thereafter depending how the first 45 go I think it'll be good either way
They go 2-0 up at half time and they'll be right up for it second half , likewise if they're nowhere near getting a result just after half time the natives will get restless and I cannot wait to see it

true, i'd have been much more tolerant of mick's football if he'd have given us 96 points a season!

Some of this IF not all of it is gold
Not sure where to start with it really
We paid £8m for Broadhead apparently as per one of their "fans"
Their fanbase gets better , so glad this isn't us !
c'mon, it isn't 'the fanbase' though is it? it's a number of ill-informed gobshiiites. They are nowhere near the vast majority of normal Owls fans who are just like you - fans who love their club and yearn for some good times to return.
Most Wednesday fans wish you well, and for what it's worth, I think you are well set for a great Championship campaign and a bright future.
Don't let the morons on Twitter or messageboards lead you into believing that the majority of Wednesdayites don't wish you well and yes, envy you like hell.
All the best

Thanks for the reply ….enjoy tomorrow night
Cheers mate - it's one of those 'no chance' scenarios, but. as a football fan, imagine the feeling of NOT being there should we achieve that miracle . . . .
