I don’t have any problem with Wales or the Welsh people. I worked in Cardiff for a few months and enjoyed it. Snowdonia is beautiful. Newport is a hole but the taxi driver taking me to Celtic Manor on my first visit told me that when picking me up from the station! He was right.
Not been to Wrexham, but I have seen them play at least once (against Grimsby about 10 years ago at Wembley) and since our football teams have only crossed paths once, I believe, there’s nothing to despise from my perspective. As for their upturn in fortunes, I don’t know the details of the story, but good luck to them.
The Ed Sheeran comments by this bloke? if ever there was a lesson in do your research before opening the mouth, that was it. Thick footballer syndrome.

I've seen Wrexham play once. When they got spanked 1-0 by the mighty Bromley at Wembley last year.

What is the great story here? The biggest team in the conference getting promoted after spending a relative shedload of money for that level? My point is that somehow taking his views as being representative of the whole club is just daft.
No-one thinks we're bigger than Ipswich - we've just spent 15 years in non-league for Christ's sake.
As for the Disney deal, I'm not sure what you're getting at? The documentary is the main vehicle for attracting extra investment into the club. |

If anything has been blown out of proportion this season, its the level of fanfare that promotion from the National League has attracted. Its not such a big deal.
Ryan and the other guy HAVE to be active, prominent owners, otherwise the TV show doesn't work. |
To be fair, they may well be very enthusiastic about the Wrexham project.
After all, they're only trying to do similar to our own Three Lions, albeit starting from a lower level and with less initial expenditure (and less known background in soccer/football). Buy an undervalued club, raise its profile and get it up the football ladder. They have a TV show, we have Ed Sheeran wearing the shirt onstage. Both sets of owners have brought the feelgood factor back after a long period in the doldrums. The Welsh club may not have our illustrious history, but they were for a long time an established third-tier outfit.
For me, the current Town and Wrexham experiences have much in common. |  |

A club that has won awards for its community work and said sponsor who has put his hands in his pocket not expecting a return and helped us sell a record number of shirts. Wrexham fan here. It seems to me that Palmer's comments have been blown out of proportion, partly as it involves Wrexham and we're the current clickbait fodder.
Was what he said about Ed Sheeran's involvement at Ipswich ill-informed and inaccurate? Yes (I'm not sure he's the sharpest).
Were his comments malicious? I don't think so, it was just a passing remark about Rob and Ryan's level of involvement at Wrexham.
As usual though, it's easy to take a clip from a podcast, detach it from its original context and spark a bit of outrage.
To the people saying they hate everything about Wrexham, what is it in particular that you object to?
Is it two blokes who have done well for themselves investing in a non-league club and turning the team from perennial underachievers into a success story and doing positive things for the community along the way?
If it's the "media circus", I hardly see how they're to blame for that. That's outside their control.
As for hating the English, my parents and the majority of my family are English so that would be quite the identity crisis. We do boo God Save The Queen/King though a) as it seems to annoy our rivals and b) being subservient to a bloke with a gold hat is a bit weird in 2023. |

In a nutshell, a Wrexham player made up something (or genuinely believed in what he was saying) about our sponsor. Let’s face it, the tabloids football pages do a lot worse or make up more outlandish ‘stories’ with most clubs.
I’m sure most Wrexham fans couldn’t care about us and we think the same about them.
