It seems to go in trends, around the late 2000s/ early 2010s we was always away in November/December and home in April.

You do know the fixtures aren’t generated randomly as all sorts of caveats have to be considered are entered into a computer so no our opening day fixture isn’t a 1 in 23 chance of being one of the other teams in the league. Certain stipulations spanning the whole season may mean there are only a small number of sides that we can possibly play opening day. |  |

Even then it isn't random I'm convinced.
The opening fixture of the season in all leagues tends to be a belter. Normally newly promoted club vs Arsenal
