On a side note, didn't know that David Gauke was a Blue.

I think it was reasonably well known. Not sure he's been to a match any time recently though.

Great news, now I think we will see some signings next week

Fantastic news.

I didn't think the links were ever super serious, although he's clearly a manager on a lot of CEO's radars, but for now there's still unfinished business with Town and great to see him commit his future.

Perhaps people shouldn't be so quick with the 'Wahh, he's happy to drop us at the first hint of interest' nonsense.

Hopefully people will remember all those with the "def info" he was off to Leicester next time they post some exclusive rumouring #justsaying

You happy he's staying for at least the foreseeable future?

Very happy

I've been critical during certain times. But even during that period I did say repeatedly that I found myself feeling KM would be better in the championship with a better quality of player to play his style of football. Which kinda happened in league 1 with the then signings of broadhead. Luongo etc showing it to be the be the case.

I've 0 doubts he will get us promoted. Not sure it will be this season But it will happen.

Great news. Should hopefully put an end to the silly rumours of him going elsewhere.

You can definitely see how the team evolved especially after the January transfer window. I think the players that we brought in also allowed Chaplin to start playing in areas where he's most dangerous. Broadhead especially is very good at creating space for others.

The thing that makes me laugh is that McKenna has got a 4 year deal after promotion and an upward trajectory in performances and results. Lambert got a 5 year deal for the opposite haha!

Someone will probably post some stats to burst the bubble on this post. But you could see from late Jan. The speed of our play seemed to up a gear. Even against the deep sitting sides the intelligence from the likes of Broady and Luongo enabled the others to get into the spaces you needed them. As you say Chaplin was finding those little pockets just outside the box.. it doesn't happen by accident. But also broadhead was able to hold the ball and then make his own space whilst doing so quickly.. you never felt we were getting to the final third to then come back to the halfway line as we patiently waiting for gaps.. we made the gaps.

Going back pre Jan.. when you saw the likes of harness trying. He was OK but he just isn't of the level of a broadhead.

It'll be interesting to see how we transition into the Championship. We had a very big budget for L1 and essentially had a handful of players that were / are far too good for that level. Broadhead, Davis, Morsy, Chaplin and others to a lesser extent simply shouldn't be playing at that level. Broadhead is special player, not just his goals but his ability is frightening.

There will be a big step up in quality this year. What's fascinating is it's very hard to really know how good we are. I can't remember the last game where we were 2nd best. I wouldn't be surprised if we're in and around the top 2 but also wouldn't be surprised if we're mid table.

Very good. Definitely something we all wanted since the speculation.

I hate to be a downer, but doesn't this just really mean we get more compensation if he goes? Aren't these contracts pretty worthless (either way?) haha

Yes, but hopefully it gives us certainty for now and puts to bed him disappearing this summer at least.

Days a lot about the relationship with the club that McKenna has signed a four year deal. And it does suggest that the board are planning not to be trigger happy should we go through any sticky spells next year.

The sticky patch next season will be the result of the excitement created when we win at Carrow Road

Think for some clubs the idea of having to pay compensation might be a bit of a deterrent, if they're hard up. Can't see many skint clubs coming in for McKenna though...
