Sunderland tickets membership priority. 17:46 - Jul 21 with 6512 views | finidi_whooah | From club website. 2023/24 members with 30+ Away Priority Points – Monday, 24 July at 10am. 2023/24 members with 25+ Away Priority Points – Tuesday, 25 July at 10am. 2023/24 members with 20+ Away Priority Points – Wednesday, 26 July at 10am. 2023/24 members with 15+ Away Priority Points – Thursday, 27 July at 10am. 2023/24 members with 5+ Away Priority Points – Friday, 28 July at 10am. Season ticket holders – Monday, 31 July at 10am. General sale – Tuesday, 1 August at 10am A little annoyed to be honest. Having bought memberships for the whole family again. I have 17 points, the Mrs 14 and the kids 12 each. Also knowing that at point of purchase meant that if we wanted to go together we would have to wait until the 10+ point Priority window. Now it appears that we have the same Priority over new membership holders. Why have the club skipped 10+?

Sunderland tickets membership priority. on 19:12 - Jul 21 by ArnieM | Suspect the club will need to look at this , because they catch a cold next season, because fans won’t get caught out again will they. Not sure I’d pay £40 again |
Yes, I’ve paid for it this season for me and my kids to see if it gives any benefit, despite not getting any points carried over for last seasons’s away games we attended as we were only season ticket holders with no memberships. If it doesn’t I won’t bother next season, but that’s still a ‘wait and see’ at the moment.

Sunderland tickets membership priority. on 20:38 - Jul 21 by xrayspecs | I think there is a logic to this. If you bought a membership for the first time this season, then you have five points, as no points were carried forward for any away games you attended last season. If you had any membership last season and you renewed this season you would have a minimum of 10 points. You would also get a point for each away game that you attended last season. So new members are treated the same as members from last season who attended no more than four away games. A fifth away game gets you into the 15 points+ category. You could argue that a member last season who attended between 1 and 4 games away games should have priority over new members. It could also be that the club do not want to discourage new members, many of whom will have attended away games last season, and are therefore treating them the same as members who went very occasionally to away games. Appreciate whatever you do it will not be perfect, but the principle of giving last seasons members who attended most games priority has been maintained, with some potential fudging for those who only went to a few away games. Agree but unfortunately I don't, and never will have, the circumstances for every away match although have consistently had a membership and attended 2-4 per season for many, many years. Its unreasonable to think I should have priority over someone who has attended all or loads of away games, but surely last years membership and the 3 aways I went to last season should count for more than someone joining for the first time (im sure there are a lot of new fair weather 'success' fans joining! 😉) as they said it was a 'fair' way to start off the new scheme.

Sunderland tickets membership priority. on 20:51 - Jul 21 by Swansea_Blue | It is indeed a problem. Those of us away with no ST and more than half a dozen away games are pretty shafted. But then I’m sure I’ll hit my normal quota of half a dozen games again. We just can’t be overly choosy and go to popular matches with limited allocation. |
I don't even necessarily want the 'big' games. I prefer the games where I haven't been to the ground before. (I'm trying to cover the 92 club grounds as I go away!) I have already bought tickets for Sheff Weds home game on Fri 4th, on the way up, and bought tickets for Middlesbrough's home game on Sat 5th but obviously would love to finish my long football weekend at Sunderland on the Sunday! Fingers crossed there are still tickets left on Friday!🤞

That makes no sense though, members last season who attended 4 away games should have slightly higher priority than those that had nothing last year and have bought a membership this season System was never going to be perfect but this seems like an obvious error to me. Having priority steps between 30/25/20 seems completely pointless at this stage (club will have the data but surely not 2,000 fans with 25+ points, and probably not 20+), whereas the 5/10/15 split would seem to be more worthwhile - all very odd

Yes, I agree with you. Yours is the group of fans who have lost out relative to those joining new. The newbies will include long standing Town fans who regularly travel to away games but did not have a membership last season. So whatever Town introduced is not perfect, but the new system over time should be fairer than what we had last season.

Yes, I agree. See post below. No system is perfect and those who attended away games last season without a membership are arguably the biggest losers. [Post edited 22 Jul 2023 7:21]

True, but that's also part of what makes the £40 better value for last season's members who have bought a membership this season. Priority over those season ticket holders and non members is one of the main reasons I decided it was worth the increase

Sunderland tickets membership priority. on 07:53 - Jul 22 with 1239 views | azuremerlangus | Seems a little flawed - could have been fine-tuned a little bit better. The system requires you to purchase (not attend) 5 away matches to get a higher priority rather than just a higher number. Also doesn’t take into account ticket transfers and purchases at the turnstile. I’m 2 down due to those reasons, which would have put me into a higher priority threshold. It will be interesting to see if some tweaks are made to it next season.

I thought they did, surely there aren't 2,000 people with 30 points !

What it doesn’t take into account is the large number of away games that I and others wanted to attend but couldn’t get tickets or the games where I paid on the gate. However, I imagine there will be many more away games this season for which we will be able to get tickets. Although it’s not perfect, I think it’s the fairest system they could come up with.
Sunderland tickets membership priority. on 11:11 - Jul 22 with 1101 views | TractorWood | I wonder if they need to consider two things: 1. It feels like this will sell out around 5-15 points. Probably needs a tier within there. 2. A mechanism for members to register an interest in a game might be helpful. England did this back in the day and it generally worked well as they could get a better feel for appetite.
