Whip round for Dozzell? 14:00 - Aug 20 with 4582 viewsJrm_72

Felt so sorry for Dozzell yesterday. Confidence completely shot, crowd all round me on his back everytime near the ball, just looked like wanted earth to swallow him up.

Biggest thing though, he was the only guy in starting XI without a player sponsor. When their starters were read out they all had their sponsors, then Dozzell's said "available". Tragic.

Can we start a whip round and he be sponsored by "The TWTD Forum" lol

i wouldn't swap him for any of our central mid options, but he played well, especially defensively.

not much sign of his incisive through balls that marked him out as one to watch back in the day though

Not brave enough on the ball for the most part. Compared to Morsy who is quite happy to hold the ball under immense pressure. But Morsy is the best player we've had in years.

Imagine what KMcK could do with him. I’m not suggesting for a minute we should go there! I expect he’s now a consolidated champ player but by no means definitive starter. I guess his career is about to hit a crossroads the minute that contract starts to run down. Good luck to the lad.

I'm still amazed that he continues to be used so deep when he has shown through the years that he has a cracking habit of threading great balls through the defensive lines but it never seemed to be utilised.

Feels like a waste of a talent. Altho playing weekly clearly still having a great career

a niche perspective

I've looked into it, and it's £450 to sponsor a QPR player.

If we're serious about this, count me in!

Count me in, too. Create a bank account, make the subscription £22.50 and then we just need 20 of us. This could be his last season at Championship level.

It is immensely sad that he is the only player without a sponsor, for the sake and great reputation of our club we should do it. Like his Dad, scored on his debut at the age of 16. A slap in the face for the Clive Whittinghams of this world who refuse to notice anything good that he does, I still think he can become a success at QPR. The manager still picks him every week.

The details could be PM'd out to us along with a membership no.of 1 to 20.

I like it.

Though I object to helping to fund QPR.

…which are the level entry aspects of a defensive midfielders game. I’m not sure why there’s such a reluctance to call Dozzell out for what he is on this forum. He’s not Jason, he’s not a Town player and he wasn’t even a well established favourite whilst here. The some of his parts flatter to deceive and any defence about his performances or promise is rooted in nostalgia and hope simply as he graduated from the academy. At his age it’s now or never for him and based on yesterday’s performance, he’ll slide down the leagues, not move up them.

I’d chip in for sure, maybe we would need to change our sponsorship name to something like DWTD. Count me in

Not telling anyone what to do with their money but not sure this is a great idea. Might be quite humiliating for him.

Maybe leave him in peace and find a Town player to sponsor?

As much as I like Dozzell, it seems a little odd to be donating money to a wealthy football player.

For the love of god, no.

He really does not need a charity fund-raiser, embarrassing off the scale.

He is a regular starter in the championship. something our players have mainly not experienced.

Also Phil/Gav would have a say in using their trademark.

Let's move on and keep the fund raising efforts for our club.

Surely there's also the privacy & safety aspect too.

Not doubting any regulars on here, but anyone can sign up to the forum, say they're a Town fan - and we'd give them our real names & bank details? No, not me, sorry!
