Huge win for Labour in Scotland 06:46 - Oct 6 with 16368 viewsGlasgowBlue

Nationalists imploding. Tory collapse. Labour majority at the next election.

After years of mediocre leadership, Scottish Labour has been revitalised by Anas Sarwar, who is like a breath of fresh air.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Well yes, but apart from that!

It's funny how these threads just kind of tail off once the weaponisation of antisemitism is laid bare for all to see.

Yeah that’ll be it.😂

Unfortunately, it’s been a pattern on here for years.

No, I'm pretty sure that's not it.

It’s been done a million times, you dismiss anything that’s put in front of you. There’s no point debating with somebody who’s smeared Hope Not Hate, the BBC, Guardian, and EHRC, as if all these independent organisations have been part of some conspiracy.

Enjoy your Sunday, I’m sure everyone has better things to do (Phil included) churning out the same old stuff.

I was wondering what you thought about what I posted which I think is coming at things from a slightly different angle to, and in a more measured way than, the usual discussion.

Up to now, no-one has properly commented on what I posted, which surprises me, if the intention of this board is to aid understanding, as opposed to just containing the usual, sometimes misinformed, political knock-about or instant dismissal.

I’ve “smeared” them for not covering the facts and for amplifying the accusations.

And yet you keep trying to dismiss the evidence and call it a conspiracy theory with all the insinuations that involves.

You’re not one of the principal weaponisers on here but you are equally shameless in apologising for it and trying to brush this stuff under the carpet.

I started to read it, then saw how long it was, and abandoned it I'm afraid (might come back to it later).

It's the Sunday after another good win for us in our amazing revival under our new owners, it's mild & not raining outside, as he says the topic's been done thousands of times on here before, & just about everything else seems a more attractive/useful alternative option in life right now, sorry!

Corrected it for you.

That's a shame. It is an area in which I have personal knowledge of two of the key protagonists and am someone who feels that one of them (and other Jewish members of the Labour Party) have been unfairly treated. This in turn may call into question aspects of the Labour Party's approach in relation to antisemitism.

By the way, I was at yesterday's game and am still basking in the warmth, but never lose my enthusiasm for informed political debate.

I read with interest, as I’m 95% ignorant on the issue knowing no Jews (as far as I’m aware) and not reading much about it either.

I do wonder whether the Groundhog Day approach on here is because people refuse to see any merit in the arguments of the ‘other’ side. Surely it’s possible for there to have been failures with how the Party handled antisemitism accusations AND unfair treatment of Jews criticising Israel? They should really be played off against each other. Neither are acceptable.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I did say I might go back to it later (but I have a long queue of things waiting to be read, & my reading time has been particularly limited for past month as I can't hold phone up for more than 5 mins at a time flat on my back without hands/arms going numb - done a disc in my back again).

As regards Groundhog day, I suppose my excuse is that I came to TWTD a few years after Corbyn stood down, missed all the no doubt bitter arguments and still find there are threads about issues relating to Corbyn.

And as a member of the Labour Party for many years, with a four year hiatus during the Blair years, I suppose I can't resist putting in my own two pennies' worth.

Hope you get well soon, back injuries are notoriously difficult to prescribe treatment for I understand.

Thanks, have pretty much learned how to manage it over 50 yrs by avoidance of certain activities, but there's no avoiding bending to clear up repeated bouts of pup squits & vomming across 3 rooms & the garden, esp when he's prepped by chewing up the training pads into a squillion pieces!
